I've seen worse. I've also seen men die from worse, so let me look at it.
'blood on your sleeve' prompts.
in gotham city, if there was one thing that dorian learned quickly... well, it was that it sometimes paid to be prepared and thus always have something on hand to defend yourself; but that didn't mean that the likelihood of you getting hurt was still zero either. some guy, lo and behold, had turned out to be following dorian ever since he walked out a bar four blocks back and he had this feeling that someone had their eyes on him — so he took a quick turn into an alley only to duck behind a trash can. and therefore, whenever the man came into the alleyway, he sprayed the man in the eyes with pepper spray he had on him. the only thing was, one thing that dorian wasn't prepared for was for the guy to have a friend with him. he appeared out of practically nowhere, it seemed, in the alleyway before he was slamming his head into the wall hard after pinning him there.
it was enough for a gash to open up on the back of his head then, seeing as he did it multiple times, and then the guy's friend proceeded to ask him where his wallet was. dorian told him to 'go to hell' in appropriate fashion in response to getting mugged soon enough and, if it weren't for whoever it was that was standing right in front of him now, he might've just been toast. he was unsheathing a blade from a cover he had around his belt, after all, telling dorian that 'if he wasn't going to willingly give it to him, he would just steal it from his cold, dead fingers' before something miraculously happened. it seemed like a shot, maybe (dorian's memory was a bit fuzzy at this point because he was trying to fight going unconscious), wrung out in the alley and it was through the red hood's interception that this happened.
the fashion designer himself had no reason to actually know of the other's persona, however, so he labeled jason as simply 'the guy who saved him' before taking his hand in what he thought was an offer to help him get up. and it was, though through a blurry series of events, dorian was suddenly in a bunker still trying to keep his wits about him. he rejected the other's attempt to look at it at first, then, with a strong 'no' albeit one that came out in a hiss of pain. he was trying to use a handheld mirror to look at the gash on the back of his head, as it was, but the man who saved him insisted on looking at it after dorian asked him how it looked. 'I've seen worse. I've also seen men die from worse, so let me look at it.' dorian let out a shuddering breath, pulling his hand away from applying pressure to the wound in between catching a glimpse at it afterwards, and didn't know why...
but he felt like he could trust jason. so, dorian merely looked at the blood collected on his hand now and nodded a bit stiffly, saying, ❝ uhh... alright. alright, you can get a deeper look at it. but don't touch it or i might actually have to kill you. ❞ he was being facetious about this, as evidenced by the chuckle that left his mouth right after, but the wound was throbbing and he was dizzy. therefore, it would be preferable for it to not be touched without him being given some painkillers first, at least (or something).
