He knew that Kole knew the truth about his mother’s death - that Nicolas’s hand had been forced after given the same choice that Kole was offered. And the son did not hesitate to say yes. Though this was not the man that was the cause of their suffering, it was one of his lackeys and Kole had gone a little too far in his interrogation with him. Now he stood over the body with the dead man’s blood on his hands - caught by the one person he wished never to see him this way.
