Lucanis took a moment to brush away the dust and sand that covered part of the stone bench at the Necropolis. Still a creepy place, but, funnily enough, when in the company of his new Nevarran teammates, it became less and less jarring each time they went there.
He understood what Cassandra had meant, though in a different way. His changes were far more apparent: the beard, the new scars -- oh, and the demon attached to his body. A change he resented. One that haunted his dreams whenever he slept. But all that meant, in that moment, was that he understood.
Being away from home for so long, fighting against gods, or elves who claimed to be gods.. that would change anyone. The Lucanis of a few years ago wouldn't have recognised the man on the bench. But that didn't necessarily mean it was a bad thing.
The Ossuary... that had been horrible. But now, he was here with a friend, in a strange place that should have made him uneasy and yet he felt safe. So he only shrugged in response, thinking of the words he could use to share that sentiment.
"Change is normal. Everyone changes, even the world. It's not always bad changes. Sometimes we just have to change so we can survive and keep fighting. Change is better than dying."
