Okay, so this is not the best collage I have made, since this is part 1 of the pictures I have to share :) Please know that none of these pics are mine. They all belong to the great animators of Aardman Animations!
Also I really, really wanted to show off this scene. Yes, Bitzer is leaving due to the changes in his master, and how chaotic his whole organized world had just turned his worst nightmare- BUT before he makes any decisions, what stops him from actually leaving, is Shaun.
Here they are right when they discover how straight-up wakey the Farmer is acting; you know, nice. Haha. But seriously, look at this photo. Shaun's flock left to have a great time, and, after all this time when Shaun craves excitement throughout the entire series, he doesn't go join the party or his flock. He stays directly by Bitzer's side until the temptation of food comes up (once they go inside the house to follow everyone.)
Shaun clearly sees Bitzer's concern, and despite there being a big amount of temptation to be apart of his flock, the sheep leader doesn't join the party, just yet. Before the "Farmer" is confronted, Shaun has to encourage Bitzer to talk to their master. Which in turn shows a cute moment where Bitzer acts like he needs Shaun's approval to send him on his way.
We see how Bitzer obviously doesn't want to join in with the tree huggers, but even Shaun takes a role in being Mr. Wtf Is Going On Here? which he.. really never is. He figures things out right away by being fearless and diving into the adventure, but this time, he is so unsure that he plays it careful for Bitzer's sake.
How do we know this?
By Shaun going after Bitzer. The point of the collage is the show you guys that they see each other as more than a friend; they straight NEED each other. They need support, they need their presence, or just have to have them close for their own reassurance in any situation. They look to each other for just about anything, cause these two can NOT, repeat, CAN NOT be seperated.
They're a duo, and that is why Shaun tries to stop Bitzer from leaving. He can let the dog go, so his life can be easier and whatnot and there is a PARTY INSIDE THE HOUSE! But no. He tries to stop him instead. This is a big moment of how many other times they stopped what they were doing to help out the problem with a problem; and yet, here we have proof that it is not about the job, or the party. It's because those two are being threatened to be apart, and Shaun is not having it.
Clearly, Bitzer is overreacting and is only leaving to get a rise out of someone to snap out of it- that being Shaun. He feels like no one cares and he is bold enough to pack a bag, but he does stay when the real Farmer comes home.
Also, before Bitzer stormed out of the house, he did only snap when Shaun decided to not think of his feelings anymore and decided to be a part of the party. The sheepdog felt like Shaun no longer had any commitment to be serious about this situation, as well as think of their relationship as a serious whole, by teasing him when he was very upset.
Sure, he offered a drink and the dog exploded, but there is a limit for everybody.
Shaun was Bitzer's support and rock. His one person he felt like had a normal impact on the Farmer acting funny but as soon as Shaun changed his tune, Bitzer felt alone. He felt unwanted and even wouldn't take Shaun as seriously when the sheep tried stopping him from leaving. The only thing that kept him from leaving earlier was feeling at home when Shaun acted himself, stayed by his side, and even felt unconscious to only lean onto Shaun for balance. But shit changed so suddenly, Bitzer felt lost and without his partner in crime to help him be there in HIS "reality," the yellow lab felt hurt and decided to show it differently by leaving his boyfriend- I mean, friend to go have a better time without him. There is a beautiful part about the ending, but that is for part 2 :)
Please enjoy this mini...blog? Yeah let's just call it that. If you have any opinions, please note below and know that this is part 1, there will be part 2 soon!!
