It was raining, and it had been doing so four hours now. If one wanted to be technical, though, then the length would be stretched out to an entire week. Yes, for a whole week the skies had darkened, the clouds turned grey and heavy with rain, and every so often showers would take place. If Rainey didn't know any better, though, she would have assumed that today would bring a thunderstorm one wouldn't forget, but everyone knew what happened when someone assumed.
Anyhow, comfortable on her couch, she found herself enjoying a nice, hot cup of tea while she lounged about and watched whatever T.V. program that came on. That is, until her power shut off as a ground shaking thunder roared in the skies. Only but a second after the thunder, lightning struck.
When things couldn't get any worse, she heard a knock on the door. Who the Hell could that have been? She hadn't invited anyone over, nor would she have considering the weather was starting to go crazy. After standing to her feet and setting her cup of tea down on a coaster, she headed for the door. As calm as she looked, she was actually throwing quite a tantrum in the depths of her mind. Of all the days to visit. I swear.
"Hello?" After turning the door knob and opening the door half way, those keen eyes of her's adjusted to the darkness rather quickly--considering she was also a cat, as well--and soon focused on three distinct figures. "May I help you?"
