  "—Likewise.. but I tend to take my exercise to the sky, rather than the ground.." He responded, adding a slight chuckle towards the end. of course to anyone that wasn’t an Air Trek user (or knew about Air Treks for that matter) would have no idea what he was talking about. "But saying something like that may sound odd to someone that doesn’t know about Air Treks.." He added, due to not knowing about this person, he had no idea if she knew about them or not

Another sigh escaped the redheads lips as the rain began to pour down even harder than before, but as much as he hated the rain he wasn’t going to just leave the woman to get even more drenched than she was. “Ah— but if I may ask, why’re you just standing in the middle of a sidewalk rather than continuing your jog?” Well, it was getting a bit hard to see, so that could be a reason.

"Air treks?" she echoed with an inquisitive ring to her fluent tone, not only making her curiosity apparent, but also displaying her lack of knowledge. That, and Rainey could go for another form of exercising--the only reason she jogged was to keep fit. "That sounds interesting."

The familiar gave an involuntary sniff, followed by a sudden sneeze. Normal rain, as she called it, was at a fine temperature she could handle, but rain during the winter was another story; obviously she had forgotten it was winter, else she would have dressed in better conditions.

"My usual route makes a loop through the city and back to my house, but I took a longer route that I thought I knew," she replied after walking some ways towards the male, "Turns out I didn't. And why are you here, walking along in the middle of a thunderstorm?"

  Oh how the Flame King just absolutely hated to be one caught stuck in the rain, with no umbrella— at that. "Nue would just love something like this.." The redhead uttered softly to himself "—As for me, I’d rather not.." Why he had been talking to himself was far beyond him, for all he knew was that he’d like to get back to the Headquarters, and quickly at that.

A short time had passed and the man had became positively drenched a hefty sigh escaped his lips "—My God do I hate the rain.." He then noticed the woman, standing in the middle of a crossroad, she appeared to be in jogging apparel "Who’d want to jog in weather like this?" He thought to himself. "—A little stormy t’ be jogging, don’t you think?" He called out to the stranger in his cockney accent. Nothing wrong with making a tad bit of conversation, now was there?

How odd it was for those keen, ever-watchful eyes of the familiar not to pick up the figure of another. It must have been how heavy the rain was that her perception was failing, as there was no other reasonably factor to it all. Nevertheless, both hearing and seeing another person stuck like her gave her a small sense of comfort, oddly enough.

"With an appetite like mine, missing a jog due to a bit of rain could cost me my figure within a few days," she called out in response, plus, she enjoyed the rain when it wasn't icy cold and coming down so hard that it made people flinch.

  Though on the opposite end of this fated meeting, a man possessing ivory hair and eyes the perfect mirror of blood had begun his day. The usual for him, one spent on his feet, sighing whenever he finally settled down, and groaning when yet another contact decided that his head would look dashing on a wall somewhere. If only that ever went how they expected it to. At the very least he was always imbued with the lingering scent of his favorite beverage— not that it was one he allowed to loiter before his dip into the mortal realm for extended periods of time. This was the usual experience for Kago, however unpleasant for some; he was of a special breed which could flourish in this environment. Though, like any other being, time to unwind was incredibly important if one were to retain their sanity— however fleeting a vampire’s might have been. The tall figure trudged into the bar, nudging whoever was unaware enough to challenge his shoulder with a bump. He might not have been the largest figure occupying the room, but he’d wager he was the most physically adept. His steps placed him at the blonde’s side, though he didn’t take a seat. He had caught a preview of her discouraging words. Either she was a mean drunk or a cold spirit, the ivory-haired male wasn’t so opposed to a little bite in a character. A hand fell, lacing his fingers around the small glass, he raised it for a moment, inspecting its quality. Not exactly beer, but, “Prost.” he toasted, tilting his head back, he allowed the muddy liquid, stark with what was usually a rejuvenating quality. It only served to warm him faintly, his features remaining bare of expression other than eyes which closed until the sensation passed. “Are you here with someone, hm?” As the optics, tinged crimson, flashed in their reopening, they wandered to their corners in a leer to address the blonde woman. “It’s not wise to stir others with that sharp tone of yours— unless beneath this pretty little veil I’m missing a fighter.”

For a man as lean structured as the one who stood before her, his tone of voice was quite audacious. Never before had she seen this chalky haired kook, and, as far as first impressions go, Rainey wished she never had seen him; for instance, those shrewd carmine eyes and uncannily pale complexion gave a vivid sense of both curiosity and anxiousness through the familiar. Not until later she would realize this, but those feelings were identical to how she had felt that same morning.

While anxious she felt and fearful she was, she kept her head high and her magenta eyes steely up until she spoke: "I hope you have money--I won't be paying for that."

Such impudence had swarmed the bar already, and the man had only said a few words, but that was Rainey's opinion. That inquisitive question of his only finalized her thoughts, too, and, while it was best she kept her mouth shut, she replied. "Whether I am or not, it shouldn't matter to you, nor anyone else in this area. But, if you must know, your answer is no." In any other situation, she would have realized the potential dangers that come after saying such things, but the few drinks she had were beginning to enter the bloodstream.

Abruptly, she turned her back to the man as if doing so would result in him leaving and began to pay her bill. After her signature--which took her awhile, considering she just changed it--she spoke once more, though, rather than addressing the bartender, she was aiming her words towards the pale-skinned individual who, as she anticipated, was still behind her: "I appreciate the concern, but I can most definitely hold my own."

Rune was still confused but pay no mind to it. She'll let the girl keep her weapon if it makes her feel at ease. She thought maybe she could calm her down if she was far away from the dog. "How about we go get some coffee and pastries at a coffee shop downtown. There are no dogs in there so you'll feel safer, my treat." She smiled, hoping the strange girl will take the offer. The girl had this elegant aura as if she could be  from a higher class. "Oh, and what's your name, if it's no problem?"

Realizing just how foolish she must have looked, Rainey gained her composure after letting out a diminutive breath. After that, she cleared her throat and straightened up, ascending to her true height as if to reclaim her superiority. Maybe it was the offer of coffee that brought her back, but, either way, she was back.

"That sounds nice," she said in a hushed voice, sending a highly appreciated, but definitely small in size, smile towards the other, "And I'm Rainey Volkov, it's a pleasure to meet you."

Today Rainey was going out for a jog, in the middle of a heavy thunderstorm. Oddly enough, she enjoyed doing such a thing--in the rain she couldn't tell if she was sweating her not, therefore she didn't feel as gross as she would have during a clear day. There was a method to the madness, in a way, but the blonde did still get peculiar looks cast her way.

Anyhow, through the rain she jogged, but, unlike all the other days she's done this, she managed to get herself lost. Earlier on her usual trail she took a wrong turn thinking she'd take a longer route and went into the city. Rainey wanted to get in a little more exercise than usual, and she definitely did.

After coming to a stop in the middle of the sidewalk, she cursed under her own heavy breathing, "For fuck's sake, why is it that my luck is so bad?" It looks like she had to turn around and follow her path until she found herself in a familiar area of the route.

It was a nice, quiet Sunday afternoon when  Rainey finally decided to unwind with a stroll through the countryside. Sure, she hated the country, but that was in her human form. After turning into a feline, the country was, in said perspective, an alright place, especially on days like this. 

Each breeze that drifted by ruffled the fine grey-black hairs that laced every part of her bodily structure. With each drift, various scents wafted by, whether it be the smell of fresh-cut grass or the musky odor of farm animals; however strong or faint it was, though, Rainey found herself taking it all in with pleasure. Hell, after a stressful Saturday working, who wouldn't enjoy themselves on a simple stroll such as this?

In fact, she found herself enjoying the walk a bit too much, as her sense of surroundings diminished completely. If it hadn't, she would have sooner noticed someone across the path she was taking. 

And just like that, Rainey was on full alert--ears perked as far as they could go to take in all they could and eyes unblinking, staring at the stranger. Maybe if she kept going, she wouldn't be noticed, but the chance of Rainey doing that was at a stunning zero percent.

Yet another story begins with this high-class blonde and her inhuman abilities, only this time she was aware of it: the moment she awoke that very day, the blonde, or as she's referred to, Rainey, knew something out of the ordinary would happen, whether it was for better or worse. With this sense, the sixth sense, if you will, her attitude went from average to anxious, and even fearful.

That was in the morning--everything else within her day was going about fine. She had participated in several conference meetings, finished a great deal of work so she wouldn't have to at home, and was now settled comfortably in a stool at a bar. Every now and then she'd come to the place to get a drink or two to calm her nerves, or distract her from pressing matters, like that nerve-racking feeling she woke with. Nevertheless, a drink, two in this case, eased her greatly, and lifted a great deal of oncoming stress off her shoulders.

The bartender, without a single question, sent another drink her way, this time a shot. By the wreak of it, actually, it was whiskey, an alcoholic beverage that Rainey had never drank before, nor intended to. With a face as stony as ever and a voice laced with distaste, she spoke: "I didn't ask for that, nor do I intend on drinking it, as I have no plans on getting wasted. Take it elsewhere."

Rune saw the girl on the sidewalk poking a dog with a stick. This concludes that, yes, the girl is terrified by dogs. She wants the girl to feel at ease so she grabbed the dog and crossed the street to leave it there then came back to where the girl was.

She gave a reassuring smile at the girl. “Well, I think you can let go of that stick now. It’s already gone so there’s no need.”

Ah, that didn’t quite satisfied Rainey—the dog was still insight, therefore, the stick was still to be held. There was no way she’d be letting go of her weapon for the next block or two. Actually, a few blocks or more sound more accurate.

"I’m good," the blonde said with a huff, but take no mind to Rainey’s attitude: she was tired, scared, and a little pissed, but she was rather grateful of the other’s actions. "I think I’ll keep my stick."

  "Hello" the voice was very soft, and the soft features of the boy it belonged to quickly changed into a smile. "I am sorry for hurting you, it was not my intention to cause you any harm." Kaworu’s shopping cart had nothing in it, he had been walking earlier and noticed the young girl enter the store, he could tell that there was something "strange" about her. Kaworu didn’t know how to exactly get her attention so he had resorted to a more unconventional way.

"I didn’t hurt you to bad I hope?" He slowly extended a hand "my name is Kaworu, Kaworu Nagisa, and who might you be?" He cocked his head to the side and slowly leaned towards her "beautiful…….your almost shining" He chuckled and leaned back. He was just planning on going for another never ending walk across the city, but this was much more fun. 

As the two stood near the cashier a door opened to the store letting in a freezing breeze. Kaworu looked at everyone as they shivered, he was only wearing a white shortsleeve shirt yet he didn’t seem to be bothered by the cold at all. “Ah…. you Lilin have so many different cloths to wear, I only have this one set here” he said with another chuckle.

The gentle voice that came in response definitely took Rainey by surprise--she was caught off guard by it, perhaps--but that didn't suppress her aggravation toward the entire ordeal. Quite frankly, the blonde was even more so angered by the fact that the initiator was smiling as though he meant to do it. If he did or not, Rainey would never know, but she definitely had that impression.

"Only a few scrapes, I suppose," she huffed out with irritability, as obvious as it can, lacing itself around her tone of voice. Knowing, though, that she shouldn't make too big of a deal out of nothing, she decided to blow it off, but that didn't mean she would't be mad. No, that just meant she wouldn't yell and make a scene. 

Slowly she extended her own hand--that is, after transitioning all her grocery bags to her opposing arm--to shake his and, with that same tone of voice, spoke: "Hello, Kaworu. My name is Rainey Volkov."

And then came that chill, that wind. While she did enjoy cold temperatures, this one gave her that unusual shiver that went from the neck all the way to the toes, causing each hair on her body to stand. The familiar even got goosebumps, which was rare, but she brushed it all aside. It was probably only a coincidence.

Well, initially she figured it was all a coincidence until she actually took a long look at the man. Not only was he looking rather pale and smug, but his attire also triggered a flag. With all that in mind, Rainey simply uttered the phrase, "That wind--it's unusually icy today, hm?"

So, lets start the story off with how it all started, or the beginning, as some say:

It was a cold, windy winter day, the sun wasn't shining at all--in front, the little star decided to let the dense clouds of grey invade the sky--and the chance of heavy snowfall was at an all time high. Every now and then Rainey saw a few snowflakes flutter about, but that was it; however, she, as well as everyone else, knew that they'd better get home and stay home, as the snow would only get worse. But that's besides the point--that chilly day, Rainey was just entering the grocery store.

Clack. Just as she entered, someone, who obviously wasn't looking where they were going, hit her with a shopping cart. Of course, the impact wasn't really anything to overreact about: she got a bruise or two, but she pretended as if the entire ordeal hadn't taken place and kept walking.

So, on she walked, to various aisles, grabbing various ingredients for her next meal (which, by the way, she would be having alone), Tilapia. When her collection was finished, her her arms were overflowing with stuff due to the simple fact that she forgot to grab a basket on her way in, she headed to the self check-out. There, she paid for her things, put them in plastic bags, and headed out the door. Well, tried to, that is.

Bam. It happened again, Rainey was struck with a shopping cart, and, this time, a Hell of a lot harder. This was probably her catty side (pun intended) coming out, but Rainey let out a low hiss as her other poor, unknowing leg was scraped up. What the Hell was with the shopping carts? 

Rainey sent the initiator a glare. "That fucking hurt!"

After the inquisition sent out from the girl, those deep purple eyes looked rather hazed. Confusion struck like a rock, with blunt force. "Why would something be wrong?" said she, after finding her voice. It was like she had completely forgotten about the four-legged terror standing behind her, until it barked.

With that single ‘woof,’ Rainey was sent on edge again. "The only thing wrong here is the fact that there’s a beast in our presence," she said quietly, huskily, as though if their topic were to be overhead by its subject, it would attack, "But other then that, nothing is wrong."

Again, Rainey brushed past the girl with haste, but not before giving her one last apology, "I have to go. And, again, excuse my rudeness earlier."

"Huh?" She was all but confused about what just happened. Everything went by fast. It took her a while to calculate what just happened until she noticed the dog that didn’t stop barking. "That’s why she was panicking so much?" She muttered to herself. She looked back at the direction where the girl ran to. She ran towards that direction as if it was by instinct, she just have to know why and if she could help out.

These were stressful times indeed for our little familiar here: not only was the first dog barking up a storm and sending Rainey on edge, but another beast was added to the mix. This dog, however, was much, much smaller, and definitely not harmful (but don't try and tell Rainey that). A Pomeranian was what they called it and, with its high-pitched, aggravating squeak of a bark, Rainey jumped again.

By the time the other girl would catch her, if she had maintained her speed, she would find Rainey on the sidewalk, shivering and shuddering, while waving a long-ended stick at the Pomeranian. Maybe if she kept doing that it would go away (but it didn't).

So why was this pretty little blonde standing, rigid, in the middle of the sidewalk on a cold winter day? Well, for those wondering, all they had to do was look ahead of her, for there was a great dane, standing tall and proud next to a pole its owner tied him up at. Not only that, but it was in front of the store she needed to go in.

"Bloody Hell," she hissed under her breath. Every fine hair on her body was spiked, and every vibe in her body told her ‘yeah, you can wait another day. Come back tomorrow.’ And, for once, she listened. She would come back tomorrow, so there was no sense in her wasting anymore of her time here.

It's not everyday that Rainey is caught off guard, but, today of all days, she was. For the most part, she was having a pretty shitty day and the only good thing that happened to her was the fact that she finished up her board meetings earlier. Now all she had to do today was buy a few supplies for dinner and be on her merry way.

Rainey wasn't the one to take the back roads, probably because most stories usually talk about people getting mugged at them. Nonetheless, she wanted to make take, and the quickest way to get to the store and back was, in fact, the back roads.

Pulling out her phone from her back pocket, she took a moment to check the time. "Six-thirty," she mumbled quietly before jamming the device back in her pocket and proceeding on. If she was lucky, she get get back home by seven.

Before the blonde could even get to the next street, something--or someone--moved. It's probably just another cat, Rainey thought as she quickened her pace, it's nothing to worry yourself over. She was definitely on edge, but she wasn't about to let her nerve get the best of her. Besides, she could defend herself, so what was she so afraid of? That answer, actually, would be dogs.
