So, I watched a video about timespace dilation and relativity today
I found out, that it’s possible to reach the center of the Milky Way galacy, and back to earth, in only 40 years time, if you maintain a constant acceleration of 1g the entire time. (1g is the acceleration rate required to hit escape velocity, so it’s a pretty aggressive speed!)
But, by the time you get back to earth, 60,000 years will have passed on earth. Because not only is time relative to gravity, time is also relative to acceleration. So, the faster you go, the slower time goes for you.
So it’s possible to go so fast, that you age slower than everyone around you.
and now, we know why Sonic the Hedgehog runs as fast as he does.
He runs from death.
