Hey so no-one prepared me for the context of ‘You are not a child’, ‘I never was’.

No-one said it was his retort to Mary arguing she could make her own choices because she wasn’t just their mother, choices to work with people who hurt Sam.

No-one said it was Dean saying, I wasn’t a child because I had to be a parent because you weren’t, saying I’m the one who raised Sam, who protected him, not you. And you can make that choice, but I don’t have the liberty to, because my number one priority is and always will be to protect Sam, and if he’s not safe, it’s not happening, the end. Because I’m not a child, and I’m not asking you to be my mother, I’m asking you to be his. I’m asking you to step up and be a parent to Sam, because if I could do it as a child, you can damn well do it as an adult.
