At that Katrina couldn’t help but snort. “Honestly, I can’t blame him. Tennie is super cute,” she says, reaching forward to gently stroke the little sugar glider’s head. “Who wouldn't love this little baby?”

“He’d better have at least complimented you later, though,” she adds, head tilting.

“Is it always like this?” Gesturing generally to the catastrophe that is the area around them, the other hand reaches out to offer to help the superhero up from the ground. A sound makes her head snap to look for the source, but it seems the villain has disappeared down another street. “You okay?” Other heroes are going after the source of the damage, leaving her the only one not running to hide from it all.

Katrina sits up, eyes immediately darting to the doorway where Mar stands. Breaths still coming quick, she nods as the words register. She tries not to let her hands shake too much, to steady herself, get her heart to stop pounding. Because there was no use in being scared. It hadn’t been real, and there was no use in fearing things that weren’t real. In all her adrenaline it takes a moment for her to find words. Another moment to translate them. 

“Thanks.” Her voice is slightly hoarse - guess that proves that she was screaming. “I’m fine. Just a dream.”

                     "HEY MAN, I LOVED GOING ON MORNING RUNS." Crispy air in your lungs, blood pumping through your body, waking up every cell, and after that a nice hot shower and breakfast. Yeah, Steve loved those mornings; with his fucked-up knee, he can't go jogging anymore, sadly, and he doesn't understand why she complains about it. "The cost is overcoming your weaker self, which is what you should always try to achieve."
