"What...what have you done?" Horror in its purest of forms... There was so much blood, and while he couldn't believe what he'd seen, outright refused to, it had become clear that everything he thought he knew had been wrong.
“Don’t ask stupid questions Detective, I know you’re better than that.”
Steam rose from the sink and the sound of running water filled the air just over the crinkling of plastic beneath their feet while Myles washed his hands like he had all the time in the world. The first jarring sensation to hit the detective’s nose would likely be the smell – pushing away the curtain of plastic covering the doorway into red tinted room, it would be a mixture of sweet metal and bleach that had been festering in the air with no escape considering most ventilation was covered.
Across the table laid the remains of… someone. Palms were face upward, firmly drilled or nailed into the table, and a thin wire about the neck just beneath the jaw was held in place so victim couldn’t move. Chest butterflied open, ribs bent perfectly as if on a hinge, and internal organs gone, completely cleaned out but it was easy to see where they went when the floor and walls were a mess. A mush of red and purples laced with thin sinew of white sat in a dripping pile at the side and the familiar color of skin laid neatly in a bucket beneath what remained of the head that was now lacking everything save for muscle. Bits and pieces of fingers, toes, bones, flesh, and teeth were seemingly set in their place and a pair of freshly removed brown eyes sat in a tray as if waiting for this all to be finished.
Myles shook the bleach from his hands, grabbing a fresh towel from the counter – he never liked to do his work outside of his usual place, but there were exceptions to be made, especially when impulse and need tore away at the back of his mind. Almost comically, blond leans against the chair to admire his work with a huff, shaking his head with pursed lips before looking at Mineo with a knowing smile.
“I assume you have questions that are a bit less stupid than your first. But first –why don’t you tell me what you think happened? I tell you if you’re hot of cold.”
