He is still becoming accustomed to the fact that when he intrudes into people’s lives, it actually matters now. It’s always an afterthought, remembered too little too late-- after he’s already put a name and a face to a moment.Though even despite that, he hasn’t really ever been someone who frets about petty details.
Not when it comes to people who don’t really matter.
“Hey, kid-- stare any harder and your eyes might just fall out of your skull.” There’s no malice in his tone, not even any demands for attention. He says it like he’s just passing through, even though he slides up right next to her.
He follows her line of sight, straight to two girls with their heads huddled close, smiles illuminated by the soft light of a computer screen. The blond whispers something in her companion’s ear and they both burst into laughter.
“Y’know, for just five easy payments of $19.95 I could make them quiet down.”
