Perhaps she was able to tell Jacob was in the city because she could sense it, being his twin sister and all. Or perhaps it was obvious from the trail of destruction he left in his wake. Either way, Evie was somehow certain that her twin had finally joined her in this city and while she wanted to be angry with him, she couldn’t help but to be relieved. It had taken him long enough honestly. This time he was far later than four minutes, though she had come to expect that from her younger brother.
She had been able to track him down after running into a car accident, civilians speaking of a man in a top hat who had recklessly climbed atop the vehicles. He was farther off now, but her vision quickly located him and targeted him. Now it was only a matter of catching up, and she had always been the faster of the two, or so she would claim.
Soon enough she was behind him, in position to tackle him as she would an opponent. She wasn’t going to, but she did seriously consider it for a moment.
“Jacob. You know, you won’t become a master assassin if you’re able to be tailed so easily.”
Evie grinned, her words more teasing than scolding this time.
“I’ve missed you. Though I suppose I was better able to understand those four few peaceful minutes of infancy now… Either way, I assume we have a lot of catching up to do, yes?”
“I’ve been here for nearly two weeks and with my research, you should be able to adjust to the city and this time period in a few days at most. Ah, right, the time period… Clearly, it isn’t 1868- rather, most people claim the year to be 2015, I believe? And with that in mind, there’s obviously a good deal of technology to familiarize yourself with along with culture and…”
Unaware that she was rambling without giving her brother a second to speak, she continued on.
