I cannot believe it has been 9 years since this tragedy 💔
Please take a moment to remember a fallen hero today.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun, and in the morning.
We will remember them.
"Missing Man Table"
The symbolism of the Missing Man Table:
--The table is round, to show our everlasting concern for our missing men. --The cloth is white, symbolizing the purity of their motives when answering the call to serve. --The single red rose; displayed in a vase, reminds us of the lives of these Americans and their loved ones and friends who keep the faith while seeking answers. --The red ribbon symbolizes our continued determination to account for our missing. --A slice of lemon reminds us of their bitter fate --A pinch of salt symbolizes the tears of our missing and their families who long for answers after decades of uncertainty. --The lighted candle reflects our hope for their return. --The Bible represents the strength gained through faith to sustain us and those lost from our country, founded as one nation under God. --The glass is inverted, symbolizing their inability to share a toast. --The chair is empty, the seat that remains unclaimed at the table.
Even the sky gave us a moment tonight to remember the fallen, both our clone troopers, and our real soldiers here on earth.
Sometimes I ache to forget. To lay this grief beneath the moss and let time bury what it cannot mend. But love is a stubborn thing. It lingers in the empty chair beneath the porch light, in the hush between heartbeats, in the telephone that will never again carry your voice home.
So I will not remember you by the cruel way the world took you. I will remember the way you laughed, the warmth of your hands, the quiet devotion tucked inside ordinary days. Love deserves better than to be measured by its ending. It deserves to be spoken in the language of a life well lived, where every memory is another heartbeat refusing to surrender, and every whispered remembrance is my soul reaching for yours across the long, lonely dusk.
