#RememberingPapa on his 2nd Death Anniversary, these are some of the women who prayed with us for Papa’s eternal repose. They were there to pray for his soul and for strength of our family. Before when Papa was still with us, he was the one preparing for the house visit of Our Lady of Fatima; he cleaned the whole house, took out and set the tables and chairs, bought dozens of sodas and snacks for them and then prayed the Holy Rosary with them for one week. Now, it is my turn. It was hard keeping the tears because this year it was my turn, doing the family devotion in his place. Maraming salamat lahat ng mga kaibigan na nagdarasal para kay Papa at para sa aming pamilya. Maraming salamat sa Fatima Guild of Mandaluyong, sa mga taga Divine Mercy Shrine, sa taga San Felipe Neri Parish at mga dating kasamahan ni Mama sa Mother Butler’s Guild. A heartbreak for life 😢👴🏻

My dad died 3 years ago and people just don’t get it. They want you to move on so quickly. Bury your grief deep and then keep moving .This was my father! I loved him so deeply. I always hope people will understand, but know that most of the time, the only ones that do have great loss in their lives too. The initial overwhelming greif has faded, but there are always little “hurts” and that’s okay. Grief IS a life-long journey. An emotional handicap I can't get up, and live with everyday. It doesn’t mean I can’t lead a happy life, but it is a choice, and takes work 😢

How do I manage my envy for people who still have their father?

My dad passed away three years back. I guess this current feeling is natural. There’s always this torn inside my heart whenever I say, i wish he’s still here like that. Since my father’s death, there has been a gaping hole in my life that I know I will never truly be able to fill. There are so many things that I wish he was here to see and experience with me. I wish you could’ve met my dad because you would see why I am so motivated to succeed. You would get a glimpse into the genius man who inspires me to do my best and work hard. My father’s own perfectionism is what drives me to also achieve perfection. Although I will never be as smart as he was, I will never stop trying to be. If you met him, it would become obvious that the reason I work so hard is because all I ever want to do is make him proud. Wish you were here papa 👴🏻 I find myself saying this phrase over and over throughout my life. As I grow older, meet new people and experience new things, He was the pillar of my strength, ofcourse mama too, she’s the only parent I have now. That’s why I am cherishing every day of my life thinking and praying that she’s safe and sound. Back to papa, while it seems so unfair that there is so much that he is not here to experience, I will always consider myself lucky that I had beautiful years with him. My life will never be the same without him and I will always wish that he’s still here. Yet, I will forever cherish the memories that I do have and continue to tell people about the wonderful man that he was. And although I’ll do small things like this to help stay connected, it won’t make up for the fact that he’s not here. At the end of the day, it still won’t be fair. Yet, I know I’ve become the person I am because of my loss. And I know he would be proud.👌🏼😎😊
