I mean there was a speed duel, but he should be able to overcome that. Like you've said, he did it before. I don't see him beating quality fields with consistency this year. Quality horses have overcome a poor setup. Bodemeister absolutely sprinted that Derby and almost won. Maybe Game on Dude hasn't raced since November, but he wasn't exactly a winner in November either. Last year he had over two months between the Charlestown and the Hollywood Gold Cup, from 4/20/12 to 7/6/13, and he won both. From 11/29/13 and 2/8/14 is almost exactly the same amount of time. It's not like his last race was November 1 and this is February 28.
Maybe his excuse is the speed duel. But I still don't see him being the same horse this year.
