Taylor deserves to release atleast one song that is a little wild. She has a million songs that are censored and caring and beautiful. She watches what she does about 100% of the time. Its not like she released BTR as a single, and I mean it wouldn't have mattered anyway. Parents can censor what they play for their children. Its not Taylors job, but yet she does it anyway. And Mean is a masterpiece. Do you realize how much more good it has done than harm? Im positive it has saved many lives.

Look. I'm repeating myself over and over and over again when it comes to Mean. I have an issue with one line in the song because it's hypocritical. I'm not crucifying the damn thing. I just don't agree with the bridge. That's all.

As for parents censoring what their children listen to - I'm going to tell you a little story; when I was in sixth grade (that's when I was eleven) all of my friends were listening to rap and I mean like... bad rap, not the rap you can justify having a young kid listen to. My mom didn't want me listening to it. She forbade me from doing just that. So you know what I did? I made a point of listening to it. It's nearly impossible for parents to censor anything these days because of the accessibility with technology that they can't understand and their children have been raised with.

So yes, while in part I believe it's the parents' responsibility to keep tabs on their children and what they listen to - it's also the artists responsibility to know their audience and keep that in mind in every little detail of their songwriting. If they don't give a shit what age their audience is and the effect it has on them, then fine. But Taylor obviously does and so she should have thought twice about putting BTR on the album.
