I love slow/gradual weight gain for this exact reason! Someone packing on a ton of weight in a short time is so hot, but slow weight gain is much hotter from an insider perspective, like if it's a partner or something~
I've never been into magical or instant wg, and I'm kind of almost sometimes into unrealistically slow weight gain? I love to have it really drag out, to see that creep of softness week by week. I love when they start out so tiny because it makes it all the more satisfying to see that gradual softening 🤤 starting out so thin only to end up unrecognizable as the years pass..
of course this makes me think of a Character, and the character that immediately comes to mind is Dazai ❤️ he starts off pretty thin, maybe a little tummy from alcohol at the most. Thinking about most of his wg going to his stomach, and so it's noticeable when he's gained because he's got this cute belly starting to stick out 😊 Noticing himself getting softer, taking some time to pinch himself and realizing he can grab his belly now <3
i know in your last post you said there was nothing good in the chapter. but im lowkey just thinking about nobody really seeing each other during the agency hiatus, and when they're finally all back together they're all taken aback because one of them gained a TON of weight during the break (imaging ranpo specifically in my mind. ahem. but this could go for anybody) and like. and back when the split happened, they were an average weight so everyone is in complete shock when they come back absolutely huge 💔💔

I think you're definitely right about Ranpo! The Agency disbanding (is that the right word? >_<) is something that is very distressing to Ranpo. It's a big, life-altering change for him and the place that gave him a sense of belonging is being ripped away :( of course, being upset and having nothing to do is a recipe for him eating his feelings all day. We all know that he is not getting a job, so he'll be spending that entire time sitting on his ass and eating 😌
The other character that comes to mind for this scenario is Kunikida! I can't state anything specific off the top of my head, but I know 100% it's been reference in the manga/light novels a few times that he can get very depressed over stuff. He is going to be a stressed wreck, so this is definitely a nice set-up for him letting himself go~ 😏
I also just got a really good idea for Dazai but it's something I want to write in a fic, so I won't put it here, hehe. I am getting the idea for a series where each fic is just a different Agency character getting fat during the hiatus... I might run a poll on my different ideas if I feel like it's something I'd prioritize over my current WIPs! <3

Dazai was also cute in this chapter, telling Atsushi he needs to lose weight and then going ahead and snacking by himself 😂

Hunger Headcanons
Atsushi: He can't handle being hungry at all :( he has a lot of food insecurity from the orphanage and being homeless, so now that he has access to food, he hates being hungry 🥺 His tummy is very noisy and will growl as if he's starving even if it's only a little past his usual meal time. He gets super flustered about it ❤ blushing and stuttering out apologies. He'll try to eat as soon as possible if his stomach is grumbling like that, and I think the Agency members definitely make sure he's eating enough since his belly will always give him away <3
Akutagawa: He eats very little for a lot of reasons, so his stomach is constantly hungry. He's able to push back hunger far better than Atsushi, but he's still aware of that gnawing, pit-like feeling in his belly. His hunger grumbles are pretty soft, but he tends to feel them up by his ribs so it's a bit of a weird sensation. He'll get extremely embarrassed and sort of snappy and defensive as a cover up 😅
Chuuya: Loud tummy!!! His stomach will let him know if it's mealtime. I don't think he'd get embarrassed over it. He's the type of guy to rub his belly a little when he's hungry <3 I can picture his stomach growling super loud when he's working with people, and he's kinda like "Oh, sorry, didn't have breakfast today" and rests a hand on it 😩
Dazai: He's bad at recognizing hunger cues until he starts eating regularly and then he realizes how hungry he is most of the time hehe 🤭 I wouldn't say his stomach is loud, but the little growls and gurgles have a very particular sound, if that makes sense? They sound deep and wet, not a typical noise of a hungry tummy. He's shameless about it and will play up his hunger 100%. Whining about how empty his poor tummy is and how angry it sounds 👀he's dramatic af.
Poe: You are so right that he gets so very embarrassed about his stomach making noise!!! Poe gets flustered over normal body stuff in general, and his belly letting itself be known in public is so humiliating. He can forget to eat if he's hyper focused on a writing project, and his poor stomach will let out this whiny, long growl because he hasn't eaten a thing all day. Even if he's alone, he'll blush 🩷 i'm thinking of a scenario where he's snuggling with Ranpo, just spending some downtime with him, and his tummy lets out a really loud noise 😳 Poor thing would be so embarrassed and Ranpo is utterly confused as to why.

How easy do they gain weight?
Ranpo: gains easily! I think he's kinda genetically predisposed to be chubbier; he's never been rlly "skinny" before ever in his life and even if he's not actively gaining, he maintains a high weight super easy :)
Poe: if he doesn't want to gain, he won't have a problem keeping weight off. If he's open to gaining, then the gain is relatively slow but steady.
Chuuya: gains weight so easily. Before he was into feedism, he was actively having to count cals and macros to maintain a slimmer muscular build. I love musclechub Chuuya sm <3 so I think he would 100% gain muscle easy, it's just keeping fat off that's difficult. Much easier for him to just indulge, hm? 😉
Dazai: ooh, I think he's somewhere in the middle? He was underweight in the PM mainly because he didn't take care of himself well, and while he did get healthier in the ADA, he did have to actively be eating a bunch to stop merely maintaining a healthy (as in not underweight) weight and go above that. He wouldn't get fat off of normal three meals a day but it's not hard for him to gain if he's trying.
Atsushi: technically, he has a fast metabolism (because of the tiger) but he eats so much that it doesn't matter 😆 when he first joins the Agency his weight skyrockets, but eventually his body levels itself out and it's slow and steady from there. He also gains muscle easily.
Akutagawa: poor baby cannot gain weight easily at all 😕 he has a hard time with food and he has a weak immune system so he's constantly sick with zero appetite. In order to even get out of the underweight range, he needs to have someone making sure he's eating enough ❤️
Kunikida: he has hot girl tummy issues that he doesn't manage properly + he's very conscious of his appearance so he won't be getting chubby without a feeder. With a feeder, it's still a slow pace but he will gain!
Yosano: I don't see her as a feedee, but i do think she has a hard time gaining weight in general! She has to track cals and stuff just to make sure she's getting enough or else she'll get way too skinny 💔
Sigma: despite also having hot girl tummy issues, she gains easily 💕
Higuchi: my girl can look at food and gain weight lol, the only thing that keeps her thin before getting a feeder is stress.
I loooveee the thought of subconscious feeders so much,,, I think akutagawa especially fits this role a lot, considering how he used to live in the slums and saw people go days without food. I think he definitely does see cooking and bringing food to someone as a love language and I think he mostly brings food to Atsushi, saying that its just "scraps from my dinner" and acts like he just HAPPENED to have leftovers. (Aka a meal he just cooked for atsushi). I think eventually once they do start dating he becomes much more open to bringing Atsushi food

I totally agree on this! I think I've said something along these lines before about Akutagawa being a feeder partly because of his childhood on the streets. He was a protector and used to giving his sister or other kids food before feeding himself, so he's naturally inclined to try and feed the people he cares about <3
What's interesting about this is that the two people you brought up him bringing food to (Atsushi and Chuuya) are two characters who also have food-related/starvation trauma! I think those two associate food with safety and security just like Akutagawa ❤️ Chuuya has hints of that provider instinct like Akutagawa, but I think it's a lot more "settled" than Akutagawa's, though Aku is one of the people Chuuya gets the urge to feed lol. They stuff each other unintentionally all the time 😆 Whereas Atsushi has the opposite--he has the instinct to have as much food to himself as possible. Not to get even more off track than I already have, but I think Atsushi definitely had a food hoarding problem at some point that was thankfully dealt with quickly. Being brought food definitely makes him happy! ✨️
I do like Chuaku as a ship and as just friends, and I think either way they've definitely had some accidental stuffing moments in between them. Akutagawa bringing him food is just so cute... Chuuya understands that it shows how high of a regard Akutagawa holds him in (we need more chuaku interactions in canon 😭).
Now, Atsushi... he would appreciate the food so much! It would take longer for him to pick up that it's a love language for Akutagawa; it's pretty known how much Atsushi likes to eat, so he's always getting food gifts. Once Akutagawa starts being more open about cooking for him, it clicks. It's very mutually beneficial! Akutagawa the satisfaction of providing food for Atsushi, and Atsushi gets the comfort and security of being fed consistently 🥰

yesss, give that man a tummyache right now!!! He's not good at remembering to eat and has shitty hunger and fullness cues, and I think Nikolai eventually notices that he'll just eat whatever is put in front of him. Nikolai decides to have fun with this and experiments with how much food he can give Fyodor before he questions it.
This leads to Nikolai giving Fyodor way too much food and Fyodor eating it all mindlessly <3 The fullness hits like a truck afterward, and he's stuck in an unusual position of vulnerability--stuck in his chair by the weight in his gut. He's trying to keep a straight face while quietly panting and gingerly touching his stomach. He's so full he can hardly breathe, and it's an immensely unfamiliar situation for him 😳
Nikolai is overjoyed by this 🤭 I can picture him inflicting some lovely belly torture on Fyodor. Squeezing his stomach, poking him, trying to force him into eating any more... oh he would be so mean to Fyodor's tummy 😏
ohhhh this is so good <3 I think the winner would depend on the criteria of the contest! If whoever has the loudest burps wins, then Chuuya would 100% win. If the winner is whoever can burp the most before they puke, then it'd be Dazai ✨

Soukoku Burping Contest
Easiest way to do a burping contest is to chug a load of soda ofc! Chuuya gets bloated pretty fast despite all the air he's letting out. Dazai takes longer to have visible bloating but will still end up Round by the end of it.
This seems like something 18!Dazai and Chuuya would do in the PM lol... they're very competitive with each other and this ridiculous contest idea was something Dazai came up with for sure 😂
Loudest burps win scenario: Dazai has heard Chuuya burp before, but he didn't know he could get this loud when he's not trying to hold back. Chuuya is sitting down with his head tilted back loosely, letting out these roaring unrestrained belches that sound like pure air 🤤 His burps are dry and airy in an almost painful sounding way, but he doesn't seem to be in discomfort from them. He hits his chest a bit to loosen them up even more, and Dazai quickly realizes that the slug is definitely winning this competition... but that doesn't make him surrender.
Most burps before puking scenario: At first it seems like Chuuya would win, mostly because Dazai's belches sound a lot more wet than his do. While Chuuya's regular burps are airy, Dazai's are deep and wet. Chuuya is more competitive with the chugging soda and knocking burps loose, but Dazai sits there less frantically and rubs his chest and stomach to coax the burps up. Toward the end of the competition, Dazai starts getting into it a bit and his burps end with this soft moan ❤ Meanwhile, Chuuya's belches sound increasingly nauseous as he's drinking more and more to burp. He's pale and sweaty, but unwilling to admit he isn't feeling good until he doubles over and vomits liquid onto his shoes 😳
Regardless of the type of contest or who won, they're both nursing massive stomachaches and very bloated bellies in the aftermath. They declare that they'll never drink soda again (lies).
