Beastly Encyclopedia
Bella’s legs were crossed beneath her as she sat in a small common area in the library. The seats were low and soft, surrounding an old coffee table. It was littered with copies of the Sumner Newspaper and varying magazines that people had picked up to read while they waited for companions or their next class. What was most odd to Bellamy was just how many people were there. In a place like Sumner if you wanted to learn about what you were the internet wasn’t totally the best route and certainly not the easiest to get information off since everything would have needed to have been hidden from everyone else. No, books were easier and books could be more easily thrown off as fake.
Books were also ridiculously hard to get through, a thousand years of journals about creatures Valentin had come across wasn’t something Bellamy could get through, with all the big words he used and his old fashion hand writing she had made it through probably six books in total but merely from reading whatever pages she could from a number of them, mostly she’d focused on the ones about her own vampiric sub-species but from just opening up others she’d come across more. This was why she’d had it all turned into a program by some university students she had met in Monte Carlo, young vampires with old sires who studied for the sake of studying and learnt for the expansion of their minds. Obviously not all of the journals had been added and with things spanning years there was corrupted information in some creatures that needed to be corrected. Still she hoped whatever the creature was they’d be able to find it.
While she waited Bella sipped on her fruity tea, her soon to be companion’s own sitting on the coffee table next to her open laptop. The program did not look fancy, right now it was still in pre-beta stages so it looked like a program you’d have found on windows in the eighties or nineties but it was the text they wanted and that was what was important. With one blow through the opening of her take-away cups lid Bella looked up in search of the man who’s face she had seen a few times in her feed.
