Day 29: Love

Remilia yawns, glancing at the clock.

It's 5am, which is actually pretty much late afternoon for her, since she's a vampire and normally sleeps during the day and all that. But she recently adjusted her sleep schedule so that she could attend that cherry blossom viewing party at the Hakurei Shrine, and she's still not completely adjusted back to her usual patterns yet. So she's pretty sleepy.

Okay, she'll grab a quick drink from the kitchen (warm milk is always a nice treat right before bed), and then take a nap!

On her way back to her room, she stumbles across Patchouli pacing in the hallways. The girl is in her nightgown, and she has a tired look on her face.

"Oh Pache, you're up late," says Remilia. "Or early?" she asks, tilting her head quizzically. "What're you up to?"

Patchouli starts slightly, as if she didn't notice Remilia approaching. Then, she lets out a grumble, shaking her head. "I've been trying to fall asleep for the last 2 hours."

Remilia makes a sympathetic sound. "Insomnia? Ouch." She glances at the cup of warm milk in her hands. "Here, drink this," she says, offering the cup to the girl.

Patchouli blinks, glancing at the cup, and then stares blearily at Remilia. "Isn't that yours?"

"Yours now," says Remilia, gently pressing the cup into Patchouli's hands, carefully wrapping the girl's fingers around the handle to make she that she has a steady grip on it.

The girl blinks. "Thanks, I guess." She glances up at Remilia. "What are you up at this time of night, Remi, anyway? Reading? Going for a walk?"

Remilia yawns, covering her mouth. "Actually, I was going to take a nap." She glances at Patchouli. "Wanna try sleeping in my bed? Maybe a change of scenery will help."

Patchouli is slowly and carefully sipping from the cup of warm milk that Remilia gave her. "Hmm," she says, making a non-committal sound.

Remilia takes Patchouli's hand and starts dragging her along the hallway. "C'mon. You can leave after if you want."

Patchouli doesn't say anything in response, but after a brief moment of hesitation, she gives in and willingly follows after Remilia.

"You can leave the cup on that table, by the way," says Remilia. "Sakuya or someone can pick it up later."

Patchouli does exactly that.

Remilia dives onto her giant bed, letting out an "oomf" sound as she flops onto the mattress.

Patchouli, the more refined one, patiently walks around the foot of the bed towards Remilia's right. She very delicately sits down on the side of the bed, carefully taking off her slippers before swinging her legs onto the bed.

Remilia rolls over to her left. She leans over to the bedside table and blows out the candle, plunging the room into darkness. The only remaining source of light is from outside the window, where there's a small bit of ambient moonlight. Remilia's night vision is pretty good though, so she can still see Patchouli to her right as the girl lifts up the covers and crawls underneath.

Remilia rolls over and shuffles closer to Patchouli. She then wraps her arms around Patchouli, hugging her and bringing her close.

Patchouli tenses for a moment, as if surprised by the sudden physical contact. Then, the girl relaxes again. "Sorry about this," she murmurs.

Remilia kisses the girl on the forehead. "Don't sweat it. Nighty night, Pache."

"Mm."

It seems like Patchouli is still a bit restless. The girl tosses and turns and readjusts her position in Remilia's arms a few times.

But finally, she eventually settles into a position with her head resting against Remilia's chest. Her breathing gradually evens out, and soon she's fast asleep.

Remilia smiles. Pache fell asleep pretty quickly. She must have been quite tired. Maybe the warm milk helped. That's good.

Satisfied that Patchouli is resting now, Remilia yawns and finally closes her eyes, nuzzling her chin over Patchouli's head, finally letting sleep claim her as well.

Day 3: Friends

catching up with femslash february drawings, here's day 3! prompt was "gaming/watching a movie". playing croquet is close enough to gaming, right? still need to do the drabbles...

hey zuns said that patche is a fully mature adult, while in every single description of remilia insists she's a lil kid who can't age

ah is that so? There are many areas of canon that I'm still unfamiliar with, so I apologize if I get anything wrong! >_<;;

tho just from my impressions of her from eosd, I guess I hc Remi as being more grown-up than that, ie more like an equal to Patchy (albeit perhaps more whimsical)

iirc Remi and Patchy are long-time friends and I guess kinda wanted to explore that vibe

day 15: in a different style! patchouli is in mori kei and remilia is in fairy kei. also it turns out i can only draw one of them looking fluid and dynamic the other has to be stiff
