BLEACH reMix: The Gotei 13

In my regular Bleach blog, I have talked about how the Gotei 13 lacked structure as an organization. So, for reMix, I want to make my own structure. Obviously, there are a few that have already been established.

Most of this will come from this website.

I also want to keep in mind that their work is guides of the dead.

1st Division — Central Command

Bridge between the Gotel 13 and Central 46

I don't know why, but I can see (perhaps unseated) Division members being like operators to any dispatched Shinigami (like the O-Type units in Nier Automata)

2nd Division — Stealth Force & Assassination

…You know what? This plus a few other Division specialties aren't tethered to the guiding of souls or Hollow hunting, relegated to either whatever is going on in the Seireitei, other settlements within the Rukongai, or covert missions in the Living World (I think the Gotei 13 could kill humans if there was an order to).

3rd Division — Information & Intelligence

Information gatherers

Scouts

Expedition

They would scan an area for any activity (supernatural or otherwise) and act accordingly

4th Division — Medical Ward

Medical Assistance

Custodial Staff

Primarily healers/specializes in healing Kido (Chiyodo; I don't like the name Kaido)

5th Division — Kido Corps & Tactics

It just made sense to merge the Kido Corp with the 5th Division since it apparently has the most Kido experts

It does make me wonder if that means Tessai and Hachigen aren't the chief & vice-chief of the Kido Corps part anymore.

Although, considering that Mayuri is the current president of the SRDI department and Akon is the current vice-president (even when he was the 3rd seat), maybe it is something like that:

Shinji (and later Aizen) would be Chief of the Kido Corp while Tessai and Hachigen still held a high position in Kido Corp at the time (and were members of the 5th Division)

6th Division — Internal Affairs

Maintaining law and order in the Seireitei, I guess sorta like a police unit

They reprimand Shinigami that broke the law and detained them until judgement was passed

7th Division — Seireitei-Rukongai Diplomacy

Bridge between the Rukongai and the Seireitei and maintaining peace

8th Division — Reserves & Backup

Contains 'extras' if you will

A mix of medics, kido experts, sword masters, etc

All reserved incase a Division is short in readied soldiers

9th Division — Counter-Intelligence

In charge of Seiretei security

10th Division — Defensive Tactics & Operation Coordination

In charge of planning operations

11th Division — Offensive Tactics & Hollow Exterminators

Solely practices in Zanjutsu

In charge of dealing with cases of Menos sightings and Hollow Hordes

12th Division — Research & Development

13th Division — Jureichi Observations

In charge of overseeing Jureichi

The Power Ranking System (plus Shinigami Ranking System)

The Power System in Bleach is a level…hard to follow at times. I think its mostly because people tend to talk about the 'powerscale' of a character…which is ridiculous.

I was gonna make the post for Kido, first, but I figured to…figure this one out first.

Firstly, the Reiryoku levels. Fundamental to the power system since, without reiryoku, you have no supernatural powers.

Reiryoku Levels (according to the Bleach wiki)

— Basic

This level of Spiritual Power corresponds to those possessing a level of Spiritual Power that is minimal. This level of power is common among those who may or may not be spiritually aware to a small degree but otherwise have no real Spiritual Power. This is also a common level of power for a regular human. (Below Average-class)

— Average

This level of Spiritual Power corresponds to those possessing an average level of Spiritual Power. This level of power is common among those of significant spiritual awareness and may even possess powers of their own but the power levels can vary among individuals. This is also a common level of power for a low ranking Seated and Non Seated Members of the Gotei 13 or lesser power individuals. (Average-class)

— High

This level of Spiritual Power corresponds to those possessing an above average amount of Spiritual Power, which is finely controlled. This level of Spiritual Power is common among those of an average Lieutenant rank and high ranked Seated Officers. (Lieutenant-class)

— Great

This level of Spiritual Power corresponds to those possessing a large amount of Spiritual Power which is finely controlled. This level of Spiritual Power is common amongst those of an average Captain rank. (Captain-class)

— Immense

This level of Spiritual Power corresponds to those possessing an enormous amount of Spiritual Power which is finely controlled. This level of Spiritual Power is reflected in its ability to enhance a user during combat as well as its ability to affect the surrounding environment on a controlled level, allowing the wielder to use it in combat to startling degrees. (Advanced Captain-Class)

— Immeasurable

This level of Spiritual Power corresponds to those possessing a colossal amount of Spiritual Power, which can be controlled to varying degrees depending on the individual. This level of Spiritual Power is very rare and reserved for the strongest beings. (Beyond Captain-Class)

I actually made a 7th level:

— Incomprehensible

It is near impossible to describe this level of Reiryoku. This level is virtually impossible to truly achieve and is reserved for beings that could be called gods. (Soul King-Class)

With the power levels in mind, I want to introduce another ranking system. A Shinigami (or some other supernatural entity) is tested/observed to gauge their average reiryoku level and overall capabilities.

Important Note: Again, power and capabilities can be dynamic depending on environmental, emotional/mental, and alternative factors. These factors can temporarily decrease/increase their average level. Plus, most characters have a unique set of abilities for further diversity. In terms of raw strength, sure, Kenpachi can body a loooooot of people. But, someone who is more clever could outsmart him.

The ranking system doesn't apply to the Basic level since there is nothing to rank.

Ranks F to A are for Unseated Officers to Captain-class respectively while S-Ranked entities are reserved for Immense, Immeasurable, and Incomprehensible levels.

There is a 'Rank E' in the Shinigami's ranking system, but it's reserved for Shinigami whose power exceeds to the next level, but hasn't been promoted (ex, Sasakibe is an E-ranked Lieutenant because he refused a Captain position). I'd wager its also for Substitute Shinigami as well.

There are below-average and above-average in the ranks too (ex. F, F-, and F+). These could be blurred lines between the ranks (ex. B+ and A-). Like, an individual could be exceptional in their rank, but not quite ready for a promotion or could quite be below average, but not enough to be demoted.

Note: While I am using the Shinigami as examples of this, the rankings can still apply to other races (Hollows, Quincy, Fullbringer, High-Spec Humans…)

Typical Ranking System

F — Unseated Officers

D — Low-Ranked Seated Officers

C — High-Ranked Seated Officers

B — Lieutenant

A — Captain

As stated before, S-Rank is reserved for entities above Captain.

S — Advanced Captain (the average rank for the Head-Captain)

S+ — Beyond Captain (average rank for Zero Squad Captains)

S~ — Incomprehensible (The Soul King)
