July 9, 2026: Lunch meeting at Remone, RIHGA Royal Hotel Osaka
The Value of Conversations Across Generations
On July 9, 2026, I had the pleasure of catching up over lunch at the RIHGA Royal Hotel in Osaka with an old friend from my university days, who was visiting the city for the first time in two years.
Recently, I have had many opportunities to meet with young entrepreneurs. Their energy, fresh perspectives, and willingness to challenge the status quo are always inspiring.
At the same time, reconnecting with a longtime friend reminded me that experience, trust, and relationships built over decades offer a different—but equally valuable—perspective.
These conversations reminded me that leadership is enriched not only by embracing new ideas, but also by maintaining relationships that stand the test of time. Both inspire better judgment, broader perspectives, and continuous learning.
