I use an 18" Bass on my Tama Silverstar gigging kit as it's much easier to carry around, fit into small venues and you'd be surprised how deep a note you can get out of a bass drum this size with a little tweaking! I'd always used Remo Pinstripe heads on Bass drums until I recently tried a Powerstroke 4 on my larger Tama Starclassic kit (the one you see in all my videos). The Powerstroke 4 made my 22" Bass sound like a cannon going off in comparison to the pinstripe so I've been wanting to try one on my 18" Bass to see if I could get a little more low end out of it. As you can see from this comparison video, despite the camera phone audio, the pitch of the drum is notably lower and beefier than before! The Remo Powerstroke 4 is now the only bass head for me, regardless of the size of the drum. #drums #drumheads #remo #teamremo #powerstroke4 #remopowerstroke4
