A man made anomaly used to test the human brain's creativity since these creatures in theory were meant to take a different form per person.
while they do look different person to person, their true form remains the same under the shell and you can sometimes see what they really look like if you catch them off guard.
other experiments claim to be able to see their natural appearance due to their DNA being tampered with. this is due to them being spliced with other animals. most animals are capable of seeing them without the need for the remote due to being more in tuned to anomalies and spirits. humans need the remote to help to see them.
