rEMOTION - an online play festival from the Asian Creative Network

This was shared to us by one of our followers @camalyng who performed in one of the plays!

The festival director’s note is this

This year has been an extraordinary time for everyone. From pandemic and isolation to anti-racism and anti-fascist movements, we have all been feeling a shared global experience, be it trauma or resistance. In either case, to me, the world felt like it grinded to a halt, emotionally and societally. rEMOTION was my response. My aim was to create a festival to give back to people emotionally, to rejuvenate the tired spirits. That small idea grew to an amazing world-wide collaboration with amazing artists. I’m incredibly grateful to all the hard work everyone has put into this festival.

repression from THOB to TFP

Repression in  psychology means that defense process that moves away from the conscious level those desires or memories that going against the rules imposed by the Superego are INTOLERABLE. Khalil Gibrain said "Forgetfulness is a form of freedom". And we have Liberty Inn, in THOB, an episode where the repression mechanism is explicitly told.

Also Culverton Smith in TST, speaking about Td12 will talk about "bliss". A red thread that rolls over the whole series, up to, in the Sherrinford subterranean, in Sherlock's unconscious.

Remotion doesn't only produce the empty of amnesia, but it wraps traumatic memories with the colors of another memory that has the cover function over what you wanted to forget. And so Victor becomes Redbeard, a child  becomes a dog. 

A dog symbolically linked to Sherlock's homosexuality like said @sagestreet​.

The fact that Sherlock has despicably mentioned the coverage of THOB doesn't really want to say that in TFP we ended up on a false track, we could very well be relegated to the trivial "I told you but you did not listen."

The content removed doesn't come back spontaneously. This happens when a seemingly harmless fact, so much to overcome control of SuperEgo (Mycroft) , stimulates the oldest memory.

Or when a new fact or desire similar to that removed, by association, awakens what the unconscious, EuruS has guarded.

Victor was the first love? Because of the homophobia, maybe of the father, maybe of the fathers, their story is bad ended? Sherlock has removed everything and his SuperEgo (Mycroft), has begun to pester him  with the story of not caring? But then John came, who awakened similar feelings, and by association, awakened memories buried. His superEgo tried to keep the situation under control, trying to keep the dog's memory alive above that of the boy.

 But by now, the gay desire, that Sherlock still sees as an enemy and evil, Moriarty, has visited his unconscious, he discovered the secret of RedBeard.

Bringing John in the same place where Victor had been, it put away the resistance to the remotion, the chains at John's feet are loosened, and the memory can come to light with his painful luggage, but whit her promises of healing.
