Maid in Vampire
Single Effect: Remove Debuffs & Remove Status Ailments (Self)
MLB Effect: Remove Debuffs & Remove Status Ailments (Self)
Effect Definitions:
Remove Debuffs will remove all debuffs from the equipped target (note: these are the effects with blue icons). Some examples include Attack Down, Defense Down, Damage Down, etc.
Remove Status Ailments will remove all Status Ailments (such as Poison, Curse, Dazzle, etc.) from the equipped target.
TLDR: “Maid in Vampire” is a good memoria that suits Vampire Kanagi’s playstyle. It’s not something you’ll be using all the time, but when you’re facing constantly Status Ailments and/or Debuffs, you’ll be happy to have it on hand. Additionally, you want to max awaken this one to lower that cooldown from 4 to 2.
Review: This is a personal memoria for Izumi Kanagi (Vampire ver). “Maid in Vampire” pairs well with Vampire Kanagi’s playstyle-- because she relies on Evade, she really does not want to be hit by Status Ailments, as they will prevent Evade from working. Vampire Kanagi is all about Evade with it being an important part of her kit, so theoretically this memoria is extremely useful-- it even has an extremely low cooldown at once every two turns, meaning that you can rest assured that your Vampire will stay safe and hidden.
Realistically however, you probably won’t be using this memoria very much. It’s good for preventing Status Ailments and Debuffs, however one thing to keep in mind is that Vampire Kanagi comes with this effect in her Spirit Enhancement:
Negate Status Ailments [2 Status Ailments] (∞ turns from start of battle)
So for “Maid in Vampire” to be useful, you need to worry about more than two Status Ailments in a battle (and possibly Debuffs, but more on that later).
One thing to note here is that this is a reactive memoria, not a preventative one. By the time you can use “Maid in Vampire,” it’s possible that the Status Ailment won’t matter anymore (many times they’ll only last for one turn, though it’s also possible they can last for two or more). Additionally, you can’t get rid of every Status Ailment in the game-- Skill Seal, Charm, Stun, and Bind will prevent you from using this memoria outright.
However, one thing to keep in mind is that “Maid in Vampire” can be very useful if Magia Seal is an issue, because that also counts as a Status Ailment. If you don’t want to waste passive slots dedicated to preventing Magia Seal, then this memoria can be very useful.
Remove Debuffs is another thing to consider. The fact that you can remove all Debuffs once every two turns is incredibly powerful. However, you don’t always needs to worry about Debuffs-- some are easy enough to ignore if you have enough firepower. But even if you do not, there are other memoria in the game that can Remove Debuffs while also increasing your damage potential:
(Limited 4*) “The Legendary 'Maiden'” Remove Debuffs (Self) & Attack Up [25%] (Self / 3 turns)
(Limited 4*) “From Top to Bottom” Remove Debuffs (Self)
(3*) “The Tone Gently Melts” Remove Debuffs (Self) & Attack Up [15%] (Self / 3 turns)
Or, you can go a step further and try to prevent them altogether:
(4*) “Survival Date on a Deserted Island” Anti-Debuff [2 Debuffs] & Attack Up [30%] & Defense Up [37.5%] (Self / 3 Turns)
(Limited 4*) “Memories of Departure” Anti-Debuff [2 Debuffs] & Damage Increase [45%] (Self / 1 Turn)
(Limited 3*) “Secret Special Training” Anti-Debuff [1 Debuff] (Self / 3 Turns)
Note however that these are all better if you’re not facing too many Debuffs, while “Maid in Vampire” is better if Vampire Kanagi is just swimming in them.
Overall a good personal memoria that greatly benefits Vampire Kanagi’s playstyle-- but keep in mind this isn’t one you’ll be using that often. You will want to max ascend this once you get it, because the difference is between a cooldown of 4 and a cooldown of 2-- and getting it as low as possible is ideal.
Lastly, consider how many slots your unit has. You’re better off equipping a passive if she only has one, but it’s more acceptable if she has two.
