•ok listen, stan would do anything to make bill happy•A N Y T H I N G•he’s given stan so much in terms of happiness and contentment, and he just wants to be able to reciprocate that•they moved into a cramped studio apartment together in their third year of college, and quickly fell into domesticity (i mean, obviously because they’re the mom and dad of the group).•they loved the quaintness of their little lovenest, but soon bill started talking about getting a cat. the problem? no pets allowed in the building!!! stan has to veto the idea for now, because “a cat’s not worth getting evicted over, bill!”•so bill drops it, but stan doesn’t forget.•once their lease is up, they begin looking for something else. eventually, they settle on a little two-bedroom townhouse with a white picket fence. It’s literally??? the cutest???•about a month after they move in, bill wakes up one morning to find stan in the living room with his shoes on, and a pet carrier in hand. •”come on, then. the humane society opens in thirty minutes.”•”w-what?”•”you still want a cat, don’t you?”•bill is so excited omg bless him•he’s dressed and ready to go in five minutes flat, and pulling stan by the hand, talking excitedly about scottish folds and tabbies and “oh my god what are we gonna name it???”•when they get to the shelter, bill is immediately playing with the kittens and cooing about their itty bitty paws and it’s basically the purest thing you’ve ever seen.•meanwhile, stan peers into the cages of the older cats. they stare back lazily. halfway down the line, one of them, a wide-eyed grey tabby, mews at him and presses its face against the bars.•Stan’s heart melts??? he’s in love immediately omg•”this one, bill.”•they name him silver and he’s the cuddliest little thing you’ve ever seen.•he curls up in Stan’s lap while he reads the paper in the morning and has his coffee.•he presses his head against the bottom of Stan’s mug because he likes the warmth•when bill is having a bath, silver will sit on the edge of the tub purring, his tail skimming the water•stan is actually the WORST for feeding him at the table. Whenever they have chicken, he’ll sit underneath stan’s chair and meow at him until he passes him some while bill’s not looking.•he always gets a gift for Chrismakkuh (obviously they do a hybrid of the two holidays), and it’s neatly wrapped in wrapping paper spotted with paw prints. It’s always some sort of little toy that he’ll chase around the house at 2 in the morning.•bill has no idea that stan is actually slightly allergic to cats until two months later when he notices the red, puffy welts that form on his forearms whenever silver gets too rambunctious and scratches him.•but honestly? who cares? not stan!!! silver is his baby and he’d do anything for that cat•basically, they’re those cat dads who call silver their child and have him in family photos.
headcanon with mike showing will the shells for the first time, and will being super cute and acting scared because "honestly what are those mike? they have little spikes on them!" but at the same time smiling and getting super happy cause his boyfriend is THE sweetest thing ever, and mike laughing because will is so perfect and innocent and going "they won't hurt you, will, just listen to them!" just ma bois being fluffy that's all
THEY WON’T HURT YOU, WILL, JUST LISTEN TO THEM! i am crying, that’s so cute!! just imagine will’s face lighting up, looking amazed and bewildered, eyes sparkling, mouth hanging open because wow, i can hear the waves, mike!! i can hear the ocean! how is that possible?! i can hear it!! and mike’s just sitting there grinning ridiculously because he’s so pleased with himself that he managed to make will smile like that. and then he puts his hand on top of will’s that is still holding the shell to his ear and says one day we are gonna go to the ocean together and then you can really hear the waves. and see them! and feel them if you want! and will looks at him, smile now tentative and hopeful, and asks really?and mike squeezes his hand, nodding solemnly, really.
