Netflix Premieres First Ever Documentary About Black Women CEOs

Black women CEOs and entrepreneurs are the stars of the newest Netflix documentary called She Did That. Filmmaker Renae L. Bluitt created the documentary to promote a more accurate representation in the media of Black female business owners.

On the Sixth Day of Christmas OOTSB Gave to Me...Awesome Women I Aspire to Be.

A long time ago I was bestowed this piece of wisdom: Surround yourself with people equally (if not more) determined than you are. The logic behind this is that in surround yourself with such people is that they'll force you to elevate your quality of work. Well, while I already do follow this in real life, this advice can definitely be applied to virtual life as well. Here are some women you should surround yourself with.

Renae Bluitt

So if I had to name anyone my internet fairy godmother (in my mind) , it would be Renae Bluitt. Seriously.Even though I don't know her, she's definitely one of my biggest inspirations when it comes to being a BAWSE. After working for high profile companies like Lifetime and Edelman PR, Renae wanted to leave her own mark on the industry.

And thus NYC PR firm Crush Media was born in 2008. Gosh, I love it when a woman  is ABOUT IT. Renae could have easily let being a newbie to the never-ending struggle that is NYC marketing deter her, but she didn't. Instead she claimed her success and now works with the likes of  Clutch Magazine, Crunch Fitness, Oyin Handmade, and Essence.

Not only does her moxie impress me, but the fact that she's so willing to shine a light on other women doing damn thing is amazing. From reading her business profiles on her blog, In her Shoes, I've managed to find a wealth of inspiration and information. Yeah, I just alleriated. It's holiday season, I'm pretty sure I get a pass.

Andrea Pippins

Honestly the internet is one huge rabbit hole. You start out researching the Cuban Missile Crisis and somehow end up purchasing all of DSW's boot inventory. It happens. And this, my friends is how I discovered Ms. Andrea Pippins. I was on one of my favorite blogs and saw someone wearing this shirt, and instantly had to know where it

was from. Well I tracked it down, and the rest, my friends is internet history. Andrea Pippins is a graphic designer/professor based in Baltimore, and curates the awesome sauce blog that is Fly. Fly captures all things beautiful, creative and inspirational including fashion, hair, and art. What I love from Andrea as a business woman is her 

creativity. I mean have you seen her shirts or her prints. Not only that,  she's been able to be incredibly successful pursuing a career as a graphic designer. She's collaborated and worked for Vogue Italia's Black Vogue, the Gap and Hallmark. If that's not baller than I don't know what is. Additionally, I love how she makes an active effort to highlight up and coming brands, products and music. I always feel good knowing I've let my hand to an underdog.
