i probably shouldve worked on this more but oh my has it taken so long plus the first time i’ve animated in pixel art 😭 was supposed to just do the lights and got carried away…

been tuning into ren's stream today, and he's been talking about the magic lore, and it got me thinking.

abyssal: ren mentioned necromancy and fire as main motifs, but specifically mentioned rebirth. this makes me think that a core tenant of the magic is accepting endings as new beginnings, sort of being the entropic magic in the city. without outside influence, abyssal tends towards ruin.

wild: i tuned in kinda late, so idk if he talked about it, but a cool contrast could be that wild seeks growth. wild always pushes itself further, seeking to find the limits and surpass them. it, without balance, will grow unchecked.

arcane: gave me very archetypical wizard vibes. in contrast to unchecked growth of wild, and cyclical nature of abyssal, it would be cool if the arcane sought preservation. some of the "in world" arcane magic thats most prevalent is enchantments, two of which, mending and unbreaking, specifically resist change. here arcane lays in the center of the balance between the other two magics, allowing for the pursuit of knowledge of the present.

decay, stagnancy, unchecked growth (if left alone)

sun (reborn fire) moon (basic calendar componet, all about what is Now) planet (obvious)

Ren said on stream about how sky looks on his planet, so I tried to draw that XD Two suns, either grey-ish blue, or magenta sky~
