Ren is pining badly. He loves hanging out with Tango and playing his minigames, and was so so joyful to team with him in Past Life. He also thinks Tango is really pretty, but he’s not brave enough to say it to his face.
Tango is not aware of this, even though he swears he keeps hearing Ren tell him he loves him. He feels like he hears Ren a lot, even though he’s never there. He ignores it for the most part, even though it’s been happening since Secret Life. Maybe it’s a sign he should hang out with Ren more often.
The cause of this is that he introjected a Ren during Secret Life, but Tango still doesn’t know that he’s plural so he chalked the whole of session 5 up to sleep deprivation.
Tango really went from one of the least plural-coded hermits to one of the most plural-coded hermits in the span of like... a handful of secret life episodes, didn't he?
