Renha brought a few storybooks and two teddy bears from the dark continent for potential nieces and nephews when he visited home. His thought process was, "Let's see. It's been 20 years since I've been back home. My then teen brother must have a kid or maybe even two by now," and so he prepared the gifts accordingly.

He had no means of knowing what was going on back home whilst sitting in the dark continent, not unless he put in serious effort to be in the know, which he didn't care to.

Upon coming back home, he learned that,

His brother had had his first child

Even had his second

His first wife croaked

He married a second wife

Had his third child

The fourth was on the way.

There was an actual saying among the friendsome noble families, that the Daeyarus men loved very, very deeply.

It annoyed Renha to no end that generation after generation, they remained unable to beat that allegation.

The uncle had been an underachiever during his time. Lanky and pathetic, always mistaken to be the younger son; with the implied sense of inferiority.

One day, he chose to venture onto the dark continent and settled himself there. I can't claim his parents had made any effort whatsoever to convince their son otherwise, but I can say with certainty that he found relief in that very fact.

By the time he made the decision to do some homecoming, when two decades had slipped us by, his parents had already both expired. He felt no particular bereavement or regret. He wasn't a man of apathy, that he could disregard a parent's death. It's moreso that he didn't identify with whoever 'Renha' was, and so the matter of Renha's parents dying bore no significance to this him.

But cliché enough, the lingering anchor that labelled him Theseus still was a past romantic fascination. He found her napping on a sofa, his mother's sofa. He let his heart flicker freely while his mind ventured to guess why she was in his home. The moment passed and so he had to learn the truth later on.

It seems that the girl he labelled as untouchable through his youth, so as to be satiated with the mere sight of her person, had found her home in his brother's arms.
