Giving flowers
Valentine’s day is almost over, but this is a gift for the lovely @princewalter. Thanks for being my Tumblr Valentine this year, Rosie! I hope you like this!
Ren wasn’t sure why he kept meeting her. There were many things he could be doing, instead he was visiting Paris for the second time in 10 months and crossing paths with her again. Perhaps it had to do with the way they could talk about their visions of the world, or it may just be that he didn’t tire of her oddities. The current one included.
“Flowers?” He lifted an eyebrow, not picking the bouquet. Even two years after the tournament, she still held much of the princess-like personality that she’d been known for, this didn’t match with that.
“You don’t like them?” She didn’t seem particularly hurt about the idea, but genuinely curious.
“I don’t care much either way.” But he did find the whole situation interesting. She never stopped surprising him.
“They suit you.”
“Chrysanthemums?”
“These are flowers for well wishing.” She smiled slightly while explaining her choices. “And if we look at the colors, red is for deep passion, white for loyalty.”
“White means death, white chrysanthemums are funeral flowers,” he informed her.
Her mortification was instantaneous. She opened her mouth in a clear attempt to protest, but nothing came out. Closing it again, she scrunched her face. It was almost funny to see her make so many expressions.
“But—” he added, grasping the flowers before she lost her hold on them— “otherwise the flower means longevity.”
“That’s quite the opposite meaning.”
“Context matters.”
“And for red chrysanthemums?”
“Nothing in particular, but red means prosperity.” She nodded, clearly saving the information for later use or inspection. “Is there a reason for these?”
“I passed by a flower shop.”
He took the answer at face value before giving her a small signal to start to walk. They weren’t going to be late by any stretch of imagination, but there was no point in wasting time outside when they could be entering the theater. He knew he’d receive weird looks for being the one holding flowers, but they didn’t really matter. She’d wanted to give him something, he wasn’t going to refuse that.
Unpopular me giving an unpopular opinion which will get me to be murdered
I love Ren x Maiden, and of you don't love it too, then you're crap. Crap, exactly like the one that lays on Men's head.
