Distinguishing Marks: - Upper back tattoo that continues over the right shoulder, covering the whole arm, stops at the wrist. Can be closer inspected when wearing more casual clothes and more of the tattoo is visible. - Crooked smile.

Common Accessories: Rings and a few bracelets on his left hand, while his right hand is completely empty.

Prompt #2: Bargain (FFXIV Writing Challenge)

The moment he entered the dimly lit room, Kaga could feel the cold running up his back. Everything in his body screamed at him. Leave, forget you even saw this building. Run. He clenched his fists, so much, they started to cramp up.

 She closed the door behind them and offered him a seat. The chair was uncomfortable, forcing him to crouch. She walked to the other side of a neatly organized desk and sat down. In some places of Eorzea, people would call such chair a throne. Kaga straightened his back, as much as the chair allowed him to do so. He wondered if she designed it this way on purpose.

 “So, to what do I owe the pleasure of seeing your face.” she pointed her long cigarette holder at him, took a long pull out of it and exhaled a sheer cloud of smoke.

 Kaga pierced her with a stern look. He hated the smoke, he wanted to reach out and break the holder in two. But this wasn’t the time.

“I want you to let Renjeon go.” he said.

 Her high pitched laughter filled the room and echoed against the cold stone walls. Kaga didn’t make any move. Wiping the corner of her eye she said, “And why would I do such a thing? He has promised to work for me. I am paying him, and he is making me a lot of gil.”

 “I will pay you. You know there are many factors that can influence how long he can earn you that gil.”

 She didn’t reply, only raised a brow and exhaled another smoke cloud.

 Kaga continued, “Say the number.”

 She chuckled, “Oh Kaga, you don’t think I will want only the money from you, do you?”

 “I figured as much.” he sighed.

 She scribbled something on a piece of paper and passed it across the desk, “You will pay this, plus I can call upon you, oh, let’s say four times, your blade will be mine, no questions asked.”

 Kaga unfolded the paper, nodded and stood up. He extended his hand towards her, then took it back and said, “You can’t ask me to kill an innocent, or Renjeon.”

She gave him a wide smile, “Deal. I must say it is rather amusing, that in your book, Renjeon does not belong with innocents.” ————————————

Prompt #4 (Catching up): Shifting Blame (FFXIV Writing Challenge)

Renjeon was walking from one end of the room to the other, rage bubbling in his veins.. He hated everything about this room. Every expensive piece of furniture was hauled in here. This was where they entertained guests, here and nowhere else. That’s because the rest of the house was the ugly backstage to their life, this room, a main stage where they played the perfect Sefaunt family. Did anyone even took the bite or did they just played along? Whether from common courtesy or simply didn’t want to bother themselves with the ugly reality?

 The silence was deafening. Renjeon walked to the windowsill. His mother sighed theatrically. Here we go.

 “You bring nothing but shame on this family. There were times I wished we didn’t have any more children after Ruvaen, but today I wished it more than ever.”

 Renjeon’s knuckles went white from gripping the windowsill.

“Oh...”, Renjeon let go of the windowsill, “... and what did you bring to this family?”

 Ephione’s cheeks were flushed red after god knows how many wine glasses, but now her face turned white.

“How dare you!”, she screamed and threw one of the empty wine bottles his way, missing him completely. Renjeon stood completely still. Once the bottle shattered against the floor a wide smile slowly crept its way on his face.

 “Pathetic.”, he chuckled, “As much as the rest of your life.”

 He turned around on his heel and walked out of the room, as he closed the door, another wine bottle shattered against the floor. The muffled sound of his mother’s voice carried through the door, “It’s your fault he ran away. It should have been you!”

 Closing the door to his room, haunted by the muffled screams of his mother, Renjeon didn’t hesitate for a moment and started packing the few things he owned.

 Nothing can be worse than this.

Prompt #3: Lost (FFXIV Writing Challenge)

He should have arrived hours ago. The trees were not giving way to anything but more trees. In the silence of the early morning, the ghosts of his recent memories started to haunt him. With every malm it was harder to keep them away.

I hate you!

Who were the words for? Renjeon? Their mother? All of them? Maybe even himself. The hole where his heart used to reside was aching. ”Great, now I’m lost.” he sighed and leaned against the nearest tree.

“Gods, you are so pathetic I would feel sorry to steal from you. Moaning, sighing, stumbling, you missed the road hours ago.”

He swiftly turned around to face the voice coming from behind him. The figure was masked head to toe in dark green clothes. By their size and proportions it seemed to be a female. And a miqo’te, judging by the tail that slowly wagged behind her.

She walked around him and said, “Follow me, when you are done staring.”

Prompt #1: Voracious

From Renjeon’s memory.

Gil... is that the only thing she cares about? She must have more than she can possibly spent in a lifetime, or two, even with her spending. I saw the heap she gets from just one night in here. Yet she finds ways to earn more. After all that is why I’m here. She is paying me just enough that I can survive, but not enough that I could ever afford to leave.

 It’s not just the gil, is it? It’s power too. The power she has over our lives, souls even. She comes to observe us sometimes, always a different dress, always perfect. She sits in her chair, one that looks like a throne, harvesting compliments from patrons, who wish for nothing but a second of her attention. Does she come for this or does she simply come to watch over us? To embrace her own little empire, made out of people she owns or people who come in here to give up their gil.

 There will never be enough for her. No matter what I do, she will never let me go, because she will never have enough.

 He averted his gaze from her and walked to the door to greet a customer. This one came every week, the same night.

“Good evening, my lady. I must say you look absolutely breathtaking tonight.” he bows deeply in front of the elzen lady. He straightens up, offers her an arm. Once she takes it, he covers her hand with his. “Shall we have a drink?” he offers her a wide, crooked smile.
