they  were  gonna  be  there  for  a  while.  the  snow  had  come  out  of  NOWHERE  ,  leaving  them  with  nothing  else  to  do  but  hunker  down  where  they  were  ,  &  hold  out  through  the  night.  it  seemed  like  the  snow  would  be  done  by  morning  ,  &  there  was  NO  WAY  they  were  going  to  be  seeing  through  the  blizzard  waiting  for  them  outside.  anya  had  plenty  of  experience  with  snowy  weather  to  know  when  to  call  for  the  hunker  down  option ... &  they  had  absolutely  been  one  of  the  times  where  they  were  READY  to  put  their  foot  down  about  it  if  need  be.

of  course  though  ,  marcus  didn't  seem  to  have  a  SINGLE  problem  with  their  impromptu  cozy  sleepover.  that  was  no  surprise  though.  the  guy  wore  his  heart  on  his  SLEEVE  ,  &  anya  had  been  able  to  tell  even  before  she  had  developed  feelings  that  he  at  least  found  her  ATTRACTIVE.  it  took  anya  a  little  more  time  to  be  honest  with  their  feelings ... but  they  got  there.  &  just  in  time  too.  seeing  as  now  she  could  actually  ENJOY  this  little  avalanche  in  their  plans.

❝ that  fire's  gettin  real  warm. ❞    their  voice  ,  a  mix  of  RUSSIAN  &  BROOKLYN  laced  with  years  of  working  in  every  corner  of  the  world  ,  resulting  in  the  only  way  to  accurately  describe  her  accent  as  VAGUELY  FOREIGN ... seemed  to  almost  coo  those  words  out  to  him  ,  around  slightly  labored  pants  &  needy  kisses.    ❝ mind  helpin  me  out  of  this? ❞    they  asked  referring  to  the  black  form  fitted  turtleneck  they  had  been  wearing  under  the  winter  TACTICAL  GEAR.

the touch is enough to make her heart flutter, something she thought she no longer had, if she were being honest. this curse had taken so much from her, and touch, love, that had been gone even before. she doesn't move when he kisses her, cheeks flushing, because she is... confused. unsure. afraid.

(it felt amazing, to be kissed. not just by anyone, but by such a beautiful adventurer. she's not sure she has ever seen someone with a smile as amazing as his.)

"wh-why..." her legs back her up, a slow movement, in case they scare him off. she knows that she is large, knows that she is terrifying. which is exactly why this is all so confusing. aura of annoyance radiates from mutant as digits fumble with umber locks thrown up in a messy bun ; letting hair down and giving head one good shake to get tresses in order again BEFORE the inevitability of having to pull the mask over visage once more. a pause on her end , single brow beginning to arch as attention shifts back and forth between " helping hands " and flight of stairs that loomed before her.

a sigh and some muttering under her breath later , palm ends up pressing against temple and sliding up through an inky sea. falling back to her side as crown bobs and a sharp inhale breaks her silence once more.

It  was  a  MASSIVE  achievement  ,  for  Anya  to  be  able  to  really  count  on  someone  ,  trusting  people  had  become  seemingly  IMPOSSIBLE  for  her  to  be  able  to  do  ,  but  that  had  never  stopped  @renownedagent   from  trying.   Most  people  gave  up  after  a  while  …  But  he  persisted  none  the  less.   He  showed  he  really  cared  ,  &  was  willing  to  brave  the  nightmare  that  was  Anya's  life  in  order  to  continue  showing  them  just  that.   Even  here  ,  laying  in  bed  after  recovering  from  quite  the  hit  they  had  taken  earlier  on  that  mission.   Looks  like  things  still  went  well  if  he's  HERE  with  her.
