I think there are some hobbies and interests like, literally everyone should know
and the only reason they don’t is because of a stupid reason. Like sewing. Everyone should know how to sew a button or fix a tear in a shirt. Basic sewing knowledge can save so many shirts and bags and blankets it’s objectively really useful.
knowing how to use basic tools and power tools is also objectively really useful. Not having to call the repair guy over minor issues will save so so much money.
but like because of sexism a lot of people only learn one or don’t learn either.
oh, also, everyone should be taught asl or their country’s equivalent. Knowing how to sign to someone is really useful in like, any number of situations, from your throat hurts to they’re deaf, and there is like no reason the general population can’t at least fingerspell besides ableism I guess.
anyways, that’s my Ted talk
