Basically what I mean is that, judging by their actual personalities and not tropes like music = feminine, football = masculine, it's even a bit arguable that it's omega Yamato and alpha Taichi the most obvious abo scenario

Oh, yeah, that’s exactly what I mean :) That would be the “non-traditional abo trope” part of the idea. Unexpected and atypical alphas and omegas are my jam.

I totally agree that the fandom has always tended to make Yamato the “princess” because he’s an artistic, moody pretty-boy. He’s actually such a masculine guy, though, that it always made me want to gag a little.

Taichi, on the other hand, fits the macho stereotype on paper so well that he tended to get shoved into the Aggressive Seme box. That felt just as off, and it always bothered me.

With Tri highlighting Taichi’s emotional vulnerabilities and Yamato’s forceful and supportive qualities, I have noticed some welcome broadening in the way that people write them.

If I was going to write an omegaverse fic, though, I would most definitely go the SURPRISE THE LEADER’S AN OMEGA route, because it would be super fun, and I also think that omega leader Taichi and right-hand alpha Yamato make plenty of sense.

I like what you said about Taichi’s leadership being based on “soft skills,” btw. You’ve certainly got a point!

So it's been a while since I've posted here and I've been slowly ever so slowly won't away at my next model. It had taken a heck of a long time but here she is! I'm not certain I'm completely happy with it... It has been very hard to get the result to be this clean and I wish it was cleaner.
