Tell your Senators to vote “NO” on the budget resolution and “NO” on repealing the ACA
The Senate is planning to pass a budget that will begin the process of repealing the ACA as soon as THIS WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 11. This is the first step to taking health care away from millions of Americans, with no plan to replace it. Tell your Senators to vote NO on the budget resolution and NO on repealing the ACA.
You can find contact information for your Senators here. You can use this script:
“My name is [NAME] and I am a constituent of the Senator’s. I am asking the Senator to vote NO on the budget resolution. Don’t repeal the Affordable Care Act—many of your constituents depend on it for lifesaving medical care.“
Other things you might want to say:
Vote NO on the Budget package that leads to eliminating the Affordable Care Act.
People with disabilities need access to comprehensive and affordable health care.
Talk about how you would be affected if the ACA is repealed or if you lost your insurance.
Congress must include the disability community in any discussion about repeal and replace to ensure that any changes meet the needs of people with disabilities.
Congress must show the American people a plan for replacement before voting to repeal the ACA.
If you can’t use the phone, you can ask someone to call on your behalf. They can say, “I’m calling on behalf of [NAME,] who is a constituent of the Senator’s. [NAME] has a disability and isn’t able to make phone calls, but they want to ask the Senator to vote NO on the budget resolution. Don’t repeal the Affordable Care Act—many of your constituents depend on it for lifesaving medical care.”
