The Ichneumon are a truly lethal mutant, but the most disastrous part of the Ichneumon are the airborne Sows.

The whips and iridescent green of the Boars are swapped for wings and a reflective chrome. While Boars are territorial herd guardians, Sows are true ambush predators, hiding in the sky to swoop up prey of man and mutant alike. The organs of the back seem to have two purposes: the smaller organs vibrate to create a mirage-like affect to cloak the Sow during an attack, the larger and longer organs produce propulsion during flight. Sow's spend much of their time seeding areas with placental pig "eggs" cloned parthenogenetically from the DNA of the pig they bore from, ensuring that their own larvae will have ample opportunity.

After successful mating with a selected Boar, the Sow will re-visit these areas and release her feather-like offspring mid-air like an aerial bomber.

The larvae seek almost any warm body they can find in hopes of imbedding into a viable host's spine. So far the only known successful host are the human made Meal Pigs and their Ichneumon replications, all others simply lack the nutrients, calcium, and biomass to support a complete maturation. The statue-like calcified corpses of failed bondings are a sign of a Sow's passing.

A fan mutant concept of @Rythayze's Repha setting. Born from a single afflicted Meal Pig stock, Ichneumon are an extremely lethal mutation.

Their serrated appendages and a saw-like proboscis are some of the sharpest constructions known in biology, slicing man, machine, and monsters into ribbons with ease.

This sharpness is being studied for military application.

Despite being mostly modified bone, Ichneumon are shockingly light weight and quick, outcompeting many vehicles through sprints and leaps.

Unusual spines on the back can vibrate rapidly to create a mirage-like cloaking effect over the Ichneumon. Despite the noise of the vibration, the mirage may be used to dodge, ambush, or escape attackers.

Ichneumon breed via an airborne female that plants placental eggs bursting with wild Meal Pig larvae. Flightless males protect the larvae with extreme diligence, ignoring food to ensure vigilance, nutrients for the young, and breeding right with the female.

Operatives are required to destroy or report any wild Meal Pigs encountered to reduce spread of this super predator.

Report is recommended if no Nephilim or air support are on standby.

Fan concept for Rythaze's Repha project. Nephilim super soldiers require a LOT of energy to support their bodies, and so need large and efficient food portions.

One solution for this issue was the Meal Pig, a genetically modified domestic pig designed to grow large and grow quickly with enough meat and fat to easily feed Nephilim soldiers.

Meal Pigs are placed in shallow pools that support their massive weight and feed on high nutrient slop to sustain their size. Their elongated snout acts as a snorkel as they feed on their submerged food.

Meal Pigs are designed with segmented surface fat and meat "packets" for easy and fast butchery.

Fan concept for @Rythayze 's Repha setting. The Durable Impenetrable Variable Environment (D.I.V.E.) Suit was one of the earliest uniforms for Nephilim. Most modern suppliers recall it with charm, considering it the military equivalent of a mother over layering their child for winter.

I was playing Halo 2 and listening to Ed Harrison music and got my brain thinking about Rythayze's (on twitter) Repha project and wondering "If it was to have a Flood equivalent, what would that look like"? Just a fun excuse for body horror. Might call em something like Chalkydri or Dabak.
