He and Gears had just finished watching a Christmas movie so of course the natural conclusion to their night ended with them trying to attach Christmas lights to the outside façade of the castle. Asmo had just finished stringing lights to the jagged rooftop and Gears was draping his set of lights all over the treetops and hedges. It wasn’t until Asmo was on the ground that he noticed the error of his ways. The plug wasn’t facing the right way. “Shit,” he sighed. “I know we said no magic but I’m gonna cheat the system this one time because I’m not re-stringing these lights tonight. You ready to watch her light up?” he grinned.

Dagon had a tendency of leaving parties early, but she stayed for this one. He assumed it was so she could be there for Belphegor. Even then, every time he saw a glimpse of her, she seemed to slip away a moment later. The party was winding down and he knew if he didn’t catch up with her soon, he might not get the chance to for a while. Aside from the meetings she crashed, he hadn’t seen her since Thanksgiving so when he saw her step out onto the balcony for some air he waited a little while before joining her. “Hey neighbor,” he smiled and leaned against the balcony railings. He felt his lungs tighten and he couldn’t tell if it was from the cold, his emotions, or Dagon’s depression manifestation. “I won’t keep you for too long,” he assured her. “I just came out here to apologize.”

OUELETTE / @offallenfeathers​

All things considered, everything was going okay at this holiday redo. It was awkward at first and no one knew how to act around each other, but people were slowly getting comfortable. All except for maybe Valefar and Ouelette that is. Ouelette was avoiding Val almost as much as Dagon was avoiding Asmo. He could see the hurt on Val’s face and he knew that while Ouelette didn’t show it, she was hurting too. The two of them needed to patch this up or they were both going to be miserable for the rest of the year and, in Asmo’s opinion, that was no way to spend potentially their last year on earth. He took the present Val had intended to give to Ouelette and he approached the demon once he found a quiet moment. “Hey,” he gave her an easygoing smile. “I think you forgot to open this one.”

BELGIREL / @offallenfeathers​

“Belgirel,” Asmo sighed as he approached his brother. “Did you change the training schedule again to put Belphegor’s regiment right next to mine?” He already knew the answer. Belgirel might’ve bribed the coordinators to change the schedule, but he forgot those angels belonged to Gabriel’s regiment and were chatter bugs. Asmo got them to spill the beans within the first five minutes. He had a feeling he knew why Gears changed the schedules around this time. It was for love herself. Asmo knew Cupid well enough to know she didn’t have the guts to ask Belgirel to change it for her sake, but he also knew how Gears operated. He didn’t need the push from her. Sometimes the thrill of breaking a rule was enough.

BELPHEGOR / @ofhellsbells​

Annoyance was etched into Asmo’s face as he entered the office. He just finished chewing Andras out, and now it was Belphegor’s turn. The two of them had some sort of brilliant idea to steal Valefar’s dragons from her vault. Unfortunately for them, the dragon really only listened to Val so when the pair tried to get control of it, it didn’t work out too well. Parts of both Val and Asmo’s kingdom were ravaged by fire as a result. “You’ve got more audacity than the entire British monarchy which is saying something,” he replied as he took a seat across from Belphegor. “I’ve heard Andras’s side of the story now I wanna hear yours. What the fuck was that exaggerated display of machismo, chief? Cause it definitely wasn’t you.”

ASMODEUS / VALEFAR ( @offallenfeathers​ )

Asmo stared at the scar on his chest, fingers lightly tracing it. The surgery to removed the tainted portion of his grace and patch it up with Cupid’s grace was done and over with now. He was officially a free man. “I thought I’d feel different. Lighter somehow,” he frowned and began buttoning up his shirt. “It feels like nothing’s changed.” What was he supposed to do from here? Let himself fall back into Lailah’s embrace to see if she’d slowly wither and die again? That was one hell of a risk and a gamble. Normally, Asmo didn’t have any trouble taking risks, but there were no second chances left. This was Lailah’s one and only life.

“Oh, you sad, strange little man,” he chuckled, doing his best Buzz Lightyear impression as he pulled Cupid out of the bed. Did she look like she wanted to kick his ass? Absolutely. And good for her. It didn’t take Aamon’s ability or Belphegor’s to know how much rage and sadness Cupid was trying to hold back right now. She needed to let it out. Asmo was willing to take one for the team. He knew what to say generally to push her buttons. He was her commanding officer before the fall. “You smell. Have you thought about showering?”

“I got you coffee, if you wanna call it that,” he teased as he held out the Starbucks order to her. Really, it was more like chocolate milk with some espresso in it. There was another small bag with a couple cake pops in there too. Her birthday was coming up and she’s just been through some shit both dealing with Belphegor’s minor meltdowns here in hell and with the situation at the Grand Canyon so he wanted to check on her. “You doing okay? How’s your back?” he asked, breaching the topic gently. “You know that’s not what the Lost Boys meant when they said you needed to get it blown out,” he teased.
