process on revising one of my species the Replitiles, an off-shoot of the Doppelganger, made to prey on primarily humans but they’ll kill dogs/cats too. generally just nasty little fuckers, the reason that people on this alt. Earth put iron bars over their children’s windows.
they come thru towns in groups (cities get them less often) on a loose schedule; a good indication of their arrival is that lavender flowers suddenly smell of chlorine. Pet rats are also just common in towns as early warning systems where lavender cannot be grown.
Many of the children who grow up in these areas move away as soon as they’re of age, sensing something more than just the unnatural is at work behind particularly specific attacks…
