assdfghhjk ok ok ok so like the reincarnation thing has me all assdfghh since Astarion was so young and died at only 39 (God that hurts my heart still) and I wanted to include him being unable to understand that he had a past life where he was loved once. My Tav's past life is the Redeemed Dark Urge run and her name was Aeryis. For defying Bhaal, her next elven lifetime has her as the Chosen of Jergal (LOVED that hc omg I was so excited!!) and as for Astarion, the past life who had loved Aeryis, he was a male drow elf named Rua. Rua is Elven for "star"

OHHHHHH MY GODDDDDDD.  BECAUSE FOR ME AS WELL,  ASTARION DOESN’T REALLY SLEEP / MEDITATE SO COMING BY THESE MEMORIES IS RATHER HARD FOR HIM,, ,  but after cazador’s death & because i said so,  he’s slowly able to recall some of his past like aerea is slowly able to remember her previous lives & like…  UGH.  BECAUSE AELORA/AEREA ALSO DIED RATHER YOUNG,  SHE DOESN’T HAVE HER “ADULT” NAME EITHER ..  astarion & aerea both float in this eternal youth with oldness to them..

How is it that every time I read a well-written Astarion fanfiction (like yours) I always wind up crying a little? Vampire Cat has me all messed up in the heart and I am choosing to blame Neil for it.

LITERALLY HONESTLY SAME. every new piece of information i find out about astarion h its me like a pound of bricks & i have to lie down & contemplate my life choices because he is simultaneously the saddest little meow meow i've ever seen in my entire life & also the worst scrungly bastard i've ever had the misfortunate of looking at. i want to kiss his face 237482349 times but i would also shove him any time he opens his mouth to talk about becoming powerful because he isn't really himself when he hasn't had his Tav Juice Box :/
