"Something tells me this isn't a happy kind of wake up call..."
@normallyxstranger gets a short starter from Cassia !
“I’m not trying to ruin the fun but... are you sure it’s okay to be here?”
“ if they don’t stop hitting you up i’ll end up hitting them down. ” Nilza & Cassia
@southern-belle-outcasts
It was probably silly for Cassia to be smiling at that, but she really couldn't help it. "Jealous?" She asked, the question meant to be silly rather than sincere, making a small joke out of the situation. Really, though, this guy wouldn't stop texting her. It had been four days since he'd gotten her number from her (drunken) bandmate and he clearly wasn't taking the hint that she wasn't interested. Cass supposed, in some part, that was her fault, though. She texted back once or twice an hour, trying to be nice, but he was... pushy. And she was clearly getting a bit overwhelmed with trying to find a polite way to say "I'm not interested in meeting you and if you'd stop texting me all the time, I'd really appreciate it". Even when she told him she was busy, her phone was buzzing every few minutes. She'd gotten to a point that she'd left it entirely on silent because the buzzing was getting stressful.
"He's harmless, just... enthusiastic, I suppose," Or a bit obsessive, perhaps. But Cass was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt even if he was pretty consistently texting her less-than-appropriate-but-not-outright-dirty things. "I don't know how else to ask him to stop..." And yesterday, when she hadn't texted him back for a few hours, he had started calling which made her feel guilty, then... right back to texting with him to keep him happy. She was trying really hard not to be rude, but it was getting to be a lot. In hindsight, maybe she was being a bit of a pushover...
@beatsbymiles
"C'mon, guys, it'll be totally worth the 6 hour drive there, I swear! We'll have my aunt's beach house all to ourselves for the whole weekend. So are you in or what?"
"A nearly 6 hour road trip... all to go to the beach for the weekend..." Specifically the weekend before classes started, at that. Cass pretended to mull it over for a second before smiling. "Well, it couldn't hurt anything. We might as well have some fun before classes begin," She answered.
Kim then nudged Miles, grinning. "What about you, Miles? Think you can get outta your little side job for a couple days?" She asked, obviously referring to his web-slinging superhero duties.
"Cassia, what's good?"
@beatsbymiles
"Miles!" She exclaimed, excited to hear his voice. Even more excited to see his face. "Where have you been?! It's been forever since I last saw you!" Okay, that was probably an exaggeration... but it did feel like it had been a long time since she'd last seen him around. He was probably busy with his college work, she assumed. She had the same issue- between homework and tests and extra-curricular activities... well, there simply weren't enough hours in a day.
❛ i thought you’d like some company. ❜ ( reid to cassia )
@loyaltybroken
Was it really that obvious that she was feeling off? She did have a tendency to wear her heart on her sleeve, so to speak. "Just needed a minute, that's all," Admittedly, nothing much had happened. She just felt like the world was moving too fast and she couldn't keep up. She needed a break from it. She tilted her head to the side to motion to the space beside her. "I suppose I wouldn't mind some company, though."
❛ promise me you’ll still be here when i wake up. ❜ ( pogue to cassia )
@loyaltybroken
"I'm not going anywhere. I promise," In fact, she settled herself right there beside him, just to make a point. "You're exhausted. Get some rest."
[attire] Cassia and Nilza from @southern-belle-outcasts (look my other phone died and is charging 😂)
@southern-belle-outcasts [ 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞] : sender removes an article of receiver's clothing.
Cass knew she had a bad habit of misinterpreting situations. She was social enough, sure. She could carry a conversation. But flirtations? They had a tendency to go straight over her head, mistaken for simple kindness unless it was pretty damn blatant. This, she thought, he couldn't possibly be misinterpreting. Or maybe she was. Fuck. She'd just have to play this by ear. Or... by touch, she supposed, because Nilza's fingers were brushing against her skin as she helped Cass unzip the back of her dress. It felt all too intentional. Or not. Why was this so hard to figure out?! "I told you I could do it myself..." Cassia's voice was quieter than she'd intended it to be. Admittedly, the words had almost caught in her throat, her face heating up in embarrassment. It's not like Cassia had much reason to dress up, really, and, yeah, she'd been struggling when the zipper seemed to catch on the fabric... but she'd assured Nilza she had it. Except, clearly, the other woman didn't agree.
She stole a glance over her shoulder back at Nilza, hoping she would meet her gaze so she could read the situation better. Was it bad that her heart was kind of racing over this? Was it worse that she had the sudden urge to turn around and kiss her? Wait. No. Nope. She wasn't gonna let her thoughts drift there if she could help it. Nuh-uh. Not because she wasn't interested, of course- oh, Cassia was plenty interested- but because she didn't want to make things awkward.
It was only a few moments before the dress was unzipped, held up only by the straps still settled on her shoulders. Despite her earlier insistence, she still thanked the other woman softly. Then, just to see where they were at about all of this... she kept her back to Nilza and let the black fabric slide to the floor, pooling at her feet. Let Nilza make the next move, if there was meant to be one. Otherwise, Cass would play it off as best as she could. What did she have to lose at this point, really?
