Are you going to be okay? |1970| Ben & Nick
Ben hated when his father came home from work sad. He often wondered why and being the curious boy he was he would sneak up on his parents and try to listen to them from a distance. He got quite good at listening to them secretly when they were in the kitchen. There was a small spot he could fit into and he could hear them perfectly. Normally it would be boring things about paperwork or how rubbish his boss was but today was different. He came home and he and his mother went straight to the kitchen. Naturally Ben followed behind secretly and hid in his little spot outside the door. He couldn’t hear the as well as usual as they were whispering. He heard them talking about an Auror that had been hurt and that it was pretty bad. Ben was glad when they mentioned the name of the Auror and it wasn’t Nick. He never wanted to see his brother hurt.
That night Ben could hardly sleep. He was so worried about his brother. He knew Nick and Frank were Auror’s and fought bad guys but he didn’t really think that they could be hurt doing it. Ben knew he needed to talk to Nick about just to make sure he was safe.
By the time Ben had woken up Nick was already there. His mother told him that Nick was in the lounge room and that he could talk to him after he had something to eat.
After he had eaten enough to satify his mother Ben ran to the living room and was relieved to see Nick sitting there without a scratch. Even if they didn’t say his name last night Ben was still worried he was hurt. “Nick!” Ben called as he ran forward to give his brother a hug.
