Another wave of porn bot posts with scammy looking links is infesting the pompous pep tag (and many other popular tags). If you see them, report the post like this:

Meatball menu on post (•••) >> Report post >> Report something else >> Unlawful uses or content >> Phishing

And just type in something like "Suspected porn bot with suspicious offsite link" and click send. Report the blogs themselves as spam.

Hey recent followers!

I'm about to block and report all of the bots, and I want to make sure I don't accidentally report and block a real person. Does your blog look like this on the following list?

If you didn't change your icon, and your blog name is 'untitled' or 'sin titulo', I will think you're a bot! As you can see there are many and they're following in droves and on tumblr we have to block them so they don't overtake the site.

Please put any kind of picture as your icon, or even just one post, reblogged or written, on your blog, me (and others) don't block and report you, thinking you're malicious spam!

Bots follow blogs because it gives them a link to a legitimate person on the internet, which makes them look more legitimate, so they could gather clicks and be shown in search results. If you're worried of being perceived as a bot, you can just post 'hey i'm not a bot, don't block me' on your blog, and you're safe!

I'm gonna wait for 24 hours after posting this, and then I'm on reporting duty.

so i started reporting the bot accounts in my blocked from my asexual bot purge (going directly to the source, which is the bot account, can help make all their posts disappear instead of only reporting a single post (plus when you report a post it will autoblock the acc that made made it unless you flip the switch it shows when you are reporting the post)) and i think ive reported real people who i thought were porn bots so

just a reminder on how to properly report bots on tumblr:

report spam + block

some people will think to report for nsfw content but that’s not the case! that will only mark their blog as an 18+ blog and we want them gone completely!
