The short answer is that a whole bunch of antis from the vld community branched off into the devilman crybaby fandom and proclaimed that the show was now “theirs” (and all the harassment that goes with that), ignoring things like the community of older fans who were there before the remake and the wildly problematic themes of the show. And that’s fine if that’s what you’re into, but devilman crybaby features such things like abuse, gore, and rape (and going gaga over literally Satan) all throughout, making the anti community’s behavior disgustingly hypocritical.
