No amnesty for DACA recipients
It is vital that you and your fellow Republicans do not bow to pressure and include a DACA amnesty in the year-end spending bill. Doing so would set a dangerous precedent and encourage your pro-illegal alien colleagues to demand even larger amnesties. Moreover, Congress shouldn’t even consider an amnesty until the border is secured, E-Verify is mandated, and chain migration and the visa lottery…

Don’t cave in on gun legislation
Don’t cave in on gun legislation
A couple of weeks ago, Democrats made a mockery of the House by sitting on the floor, whining — metaphorically holding their breath until they turned blue. Yet with Obama in the White House and Democrats holding supermajorities in the House and Senate in 2009-2010, the Democrats did nothing to pass gun control legislation, which they now falsely claim is vital to public safety.

Ron Paul Hits Newt Gingrich Over “Serial Hypocrisy”
Amplify’d from abcnews.go.com
Ron Paul has released a new web ad that portrays Newt Gingrich as a serial hypocrite.
The 150-second ad showcases some questionable conservative stances made by the former speaker of the House, such as his agreement with Nancy Pelosi that “our country must take action to address climate change” and labeling Representative Paul Ryan’s proposed Medicare overhaul as “right-wing social engineering.”
The ad uses gritty black and white news clips to slam Gingrich’s work since leaving public office 13 years ago as a lobbyist for the health care industry and for mortgage giant Freddie Mac.
It is also feature clips of influential conservatives such as Rush Limbaugh and Rep. Paul Ryan taking swipes at Mr. Gingrich’s positions.

SAUL KRUGMAN: Krugman is right. (aside: there are some great comments on this article.) It's pretty sad to see the so-called conservative movement winning elections all over the country based on a campaign of lies and misinformation. (Fact-check some of their favorite claims here!) It just makes me wonder... are they really that stupid that they don't know they're lying? Have the heard the facts and just don't give a shit? This is the danger of ideologies. Ideologues will believe whatever confirms and supports their ideology. The problem is that the facts don't care if you believe in them or not--they're true regardless. Let's look at states that have been under heavy ideological control. New York, California, and Illinois are known for being liberal strongholds. They are also known for crushing tax burdens and massive budget deficits. Meanwhile, in conservative states such as Texas, education, social services, and the environment are all going down the shitter. Even in more mixed states where compromise is necessary they seem to take the bad ideas of both and mash them together into a buffet of failure. I propose a non-ideological style of government. The process: 1. start with facts2. assess the issue using the facts3. create a reasonable solution using those facts4. use some fucking common sense PAUL DRUGMAN: This is a mistake I have made several times and one that Krugman makes in his opinion piece as well - not all conservatives are alike. Let me rephrase that with: not all people within [label] are alike. Unless Rep. Paul Ryan has previously made statements praising Ireland and is now saying something else, Krugman's example is void. But that is a problem. We view [label] movements as one force acting together to produce the results we see. Really, it's more like a seemingly infinite number of people pushing in several different directions and the results we see are probably not the results most people within that [label] movement desire. I feel like I'm talking out of my ass a little bit but there might be a corn kernel of truth in that we must appeal to our leaders in an almost personal, public manner forcing them to see themselves as themselves and not as a part of [label] movement. And that by starting with facts and using common sense, which may lead them to jump to a different conclusion than the gospel of their [label] movement, it's okay. Because it's based on facts.
Rep. Paul Ryan Delivers Republican Party's Response to SOTU
Chairman of the Committee on Budget in the House...having only read Obama's speech and having actually watched Ryan's, I felt warmer from the former's words. I can imagine Obama's resolute voice sparking goose bumps down my back.
