I’m pretty sure that isn’t the topping that’s going to make your pizza drip everywhere shoy
LET ME LIVE MY LIFE IN PEACE BENJI
@reptigilant
There is a snake in our midst.
Quietly.
That’s how the day was going, and how he preferred for it to continue. The boy got to the lab -- his lab -- at 11:30 in the morning. He was excused from class and allowed to get to the biology building early in the day. It might seem like nepotism to those without proper context, but it served a purpose, as it always did. Come 15:20, and Matsuda was already done with the work the headmaster had assigned for him; which led him to pull out a thick magazine from underneath the bed he now sat on, and hope the day would go by without anything particularly annoying happening.
Of course, that was asking for too much.
His eyes darted a look towards the door at the sound of it opening, and the boy squinted after hearing the dark, tall figure mutter something along the lines of “excuse me, coming in” halfway through its entrance to the room.
Madarai Isshiki.
Or was it-- no, it had to be Madarai Isshiki.
With a sigh, Matsuda lets the magazine’s hard cover hit his lap, deciding, for once, to pay attention to the person who had just walked in the room. No matter what this guy wanted, he’d make a mess if Matsuda made it difficult for him to get it. Straightening his posture into something more presentable, the neurologist speaks up.
“...What is it? I’m used to weird people coming in here, but most have the decency to knock.” They often didn’t, but he’d rather talk about the reality he wishes he lived in than the one he currently inhabits.
write about mukuro having dpd! :0c
Ok So this took a really long time bc I wanted to give this whole thing justice since it’s something I haven’t really seen a whole lot of people meta on, and also bc I had to choose who I wanted to respond to for this which was v hard for me to do actually.
So, now, why I think Mukuro Ikusaba has DPD
Is there anything Kuzuryuu could theoretically do that would be horrific enough for Peko to stop supporting him?
....yes, no, it depends. define “support”?
the first important thing to know is there is a difference between peko’s loyalty and peko’s obedience. functionally they look pretty much the same, but the thought process is different. peko is obedient to kuzuryuu’s dad because they’re scared of him, while they’re genuinely loyal to fuyuhiko because he’s always been pretty good to them and they grew up together.
pre-despair, nothing could break their obedience. he could break their loyalty just by treating them the same way the rest of his family does, but he probably wouldn’t even notice because they’d keep serving him business as usual. they have to. but when despair rolled around they’d be after his head just like everyone else.
now that the whole forced servitude thing is basically off the table (there’s a lot of lingering mental shit obviously for both of them, but they’re actively trying to break the servant/master dynamic), it gets a little dicy. because they’ve been so loyal so long, they’re pretty blind to a lot of fuyuhiko’s faults. they believe, deep down, that he’s a good person that doesn’t want to hurt them.
however, the only reason the two of them can have any kind of relationship post game, when peko’s trying very hard to move forward, is because they trust him utmost. trust that he’s not going to take advantage of them, not just that, that he would never. he’s just not capable of it, it’s not the kind of person he is. if he did something to make them doubt that, i’m not sure their relationship would recover.
✎ ♚ ♢ !!
✎ What do you wish the author would reveal/had revealed about your muse?
A lot, honestly. Mukuro is the basically only character from DR1 who hasn’t been given extra info in the fanbooks, and it gets on my nerves. One thing I really wish would be reveal is why she became interested in military weaponry, and how she behaved during classes.
We also don’t really get specifics on her talent. With the other characters, their talents are explained more during their free times, but that obviously can’t be done with Mukuro.
We get a little of this in school mode, but we still never really get Mukuro talking about what she’s good at. It’s mentioned in IF that she’s a weapons expert and weapons are her area of specialty, but even that’s a little vague. What I’m saying is can Mukuro detonate a nuclear bomb, because that’s a weapon.
I’d also like to know about how exactly Mukuro adjusted to civilian life after returning from Fenrir, and her exact reasons for leaving Fenrir. I’d also like to know why Fenrir disappeared. I have my suspicions, and I’m hoping DR3 might clear that up, but I’m not gonna push my luck.
♚ Do you agree with fandom interpretation of your character?
Goddess no. People in the fandom treat Mukuro as far more neurotypical than she really is, and totally ignore just how much Junko traumatized her.
Mukuro is very clearly intensely dependent on Junko, and personally I read this as DPD, but even if you don’t share that headcanon there’s no way Mukuro would ever fully be able to turn her back on Junko without someone else there to help her. Even in IF, Mukuro doesn’t fully leave Junko. She simply decides that instead of staying around Junko, she’ll try to bring Junko despair by leaving her and making the others happy.
At the end of the day, Junko is the center of Mukuro’s world, even Post-IF. That’s not to say she couldn’t develop healthy relationships with others, or even become dependent on someone who isn’t Junko, but it would take them being incredibly kind to her for her to consider such things.
So many people think that Mukuro is secretly feminine too, which as a GNC woman really gets on my nerves. She’s clearly shown to dislike having to dress like Junko, so I don’t get why people are saying she’d like cute clothes or show her in really dressy outfits. She’s clearly not comfortable with it.
I also take issue with how everyone just kinda... immediately took Mukuro being in love with Naegi as an actual crush and not a sign of how heavily traumatized she is to think she’s in love with the first person to show her kindness.
All Naegi had to do to make Mukuro want to get to know other people was show her a shred of kindness. That’s not love, that’s someone growing up surrounded by hatred and finally being shown they don’t have to accept it.
(I do like naekusaba though, for personal reasons)
♢ What's your opinion on different interpretations of your muse?
Mixed, to say the least. As above, a lot of people get Mukuro very wrong, and for this reason I’m generally wary. I also have other reasons, but I’m not really into discussing those on this blog
I’ve seen some people who get Mukuro’s personality down fairly well, and I don’t even think I’m that good. But there’s a lot of people who don’t understand how traumatized she is, or don’t understand how mentally ill she is.
A really common mistake I see is people not making Mukuro attached to Junko, and instead having her go along with it all because she’s afraid of the repercussions, which is something I... really don’t get and is really not at all supported by canon.
I also don’t really get a lot of the popular ships. I don’t think I’ll ever see the appeal of Ishimaru/Mukuro, which seems to be gaining popularity unfortunately. And I’m more than confused by Madarai/Mukuro. I didn’t know that dating the sister of the person who pitted your classmates against each other and killed a good amount of your brothers was something people did.
Also, I can’t really take any headcanon for Mukuro’s sexuality that isn’t lesbian/bi with a preference for women seriously and so many people think she’s straight.
