Today isn’t a ‘black day’ for Sikhs. It’s just a normal Friday. Republic Day commemorates the establishment of the Indian constitution and cementing the nation as a ‘democracy’. Sikhs are not formally recognised in this constitution (pay particular attention to article 25). I am Panjabi, I do not belong to India in any way or form (do not allow yourself to be addressed as an ‘NRI’). As a Sikh and an innately political being, my constitution is Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee (flick across and read an excerpt from the speech I made at Trafalgar Square in June). ਖਾਲਿਸਤਾਨ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਾਬਾਦ #RepublicDay2018
