[The Nick of the Situation]
His hands quivered as he took the ax in hand. One more time. Really, he needed to understand how to fight. Adrenaline was probably the reason he was able to toss this thing in the first place. But it wasn’t the horrors of the dark, dreary cave he was facing anymore. He didn’t know where he was either. Pop into one place and get out the other. For the most part, this place was far from distractions. Almost peaceful.
Although, the nicks in the tree had much to say otherwise,
Lore heaved the ax. Each marking on the tree never touched the center. Fine, he could do this. Good thing he wasn’t this bad when facing that danger. He readied the ax, crouching down to steady himself. One time was all he needed. It was out of his hands in one push.
And... the weapon flew past his target and into the brush right under a silhouette. The teenager’s eyes widened. Was that someone over there? Was he being watched? He was considering scurrying away and coming back later, but that ax was the only form of defense he had. He approached the location, sizing the situation and keeping a large berth.
“I... didn’t mean for that to happen...?” He peeked over the brush
If no one was there, then he would feel like a fool.
