I went more all-out on this one than I was expecting to, because once I figured out what direction I wanted to take this, the rest came naturally---
---as at first I thought of something grand, some big show of the requested happiness [one idea in particular being them leading Pride, which perhaps I could shelf for June], but ultimately I decided against all of it, because sure, maybe something special like a wedding or a parade could make them the “happiest possible”... but I feel like by putting all the emphasis on these big events, we overlook a lot of what makes the very act of living so special in its own right.
The things that make us happy don’t have to be extraordinary. I implore you to honor whatever makes you feel happy, be it the “happiest possible” or just whatever brings out a quick smile. Yes, even if it’s just the way a good texture feels on your skin. Yes, even if it’s just a warm cup of coffee and watching the sun rise. Yes, even if it’s just laying out by a tree and twirling your hair. It might be mundane, but it’s part of the experience, and a worthwhile one at that.
