Your body is sore, every single one of your muscles hurts. Lying on the couch, you go through the day on your mind.
You were negotiating with Martians and, as rumors have it and you found out to be true, they are the most difficult beings to deal with in the Solar System.
You couldn't arrive at a good deal and the negotiation was unsuccessful. As if that wasn't enough, your body is complaining about the change of gravity acceleration and atmosphere composition it has been put through.
"What a day..." - You think.
Elya gets out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel and spots you. He doesn't look surprised, of course, since he always senses when you've come home.
- Darling... what happened? - He asks, looking at you attentively.
His long hair is still wet and dripping on the floor, but he seems oblivious to it, which isn't common.
He must be worried.
- Martians - You reply, attempting to show a playful grin.
Elya winces and nods, which actually makes you giggle this time.
- I'll be right back - He says, quickly moving to your room to get dressed.
When he comes back, he's holding a white pillow and looking at you lovingly, as always.
- Come here - He says, laying on the couch with you and adjusting the pillow and himself to support your upper body comfortably.
His warmth, his aura, his smell, and his arms embrace you. Now, you're home.
- I take it that it wasn't a successful trip - He says, nuzzling your hair softly.
- Not even a tiny bit - You say, sighing defeated.
- Martians are very tough to deal with... - Elya says honestly, holding you a little tighter against himself and starting to harmonize your aura, little by little.
- You would have succeeded... - You say, mindlessly. You really feel that way and know Elya won't take it badly that you're just speaking your mind while upset.
He chuckles lightly and adjusts himself to be closer to your ear.
- Did you know that my only unsuccessful deal happened on Mars? - He asks, subtly amused.
You're surprised.
- Really? - You ask.
- Yes! - he chuckles - When I was still a young diplomat, I...
Slowly, Elya's soothing and deep voice starts sounding like a single tune for you.
The words melt together forming what is likely your favorite symphony of all time.
Your muscles, previously sore and tense, melt against him as if they've finally found the relief they were seeking for.
You try to fight it at first, but unconsciousness is such a great rival when you're tired.
The next time you somewhat regain consciousness is when you feel the balance of your body shifting. Up. Down. Up. Down.
You open your eyes to find yourself pressed against Elya's chest while he's carefully carrying you to bed.
He instantly acknowledges your gaze and meets it with vibrant blue eyes that hold the tenderness you've grown to recognize as inherent of any interaction between the two of you.
- This is embarrassing - You mumble, but you're way too comfortable to try to get away from his gentle, effortless hold on you.
Elya smiles and holds you even closer to him.
You feel your bodies being lifted when he decides to hover instead of walking, given that you've woken from the latter.
Planting a soft kiss on your hair, he inhales your scent, proceeding to softly whisper against the top of your head:
